  1. Seems like a very special car to me! https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv/cto/d/la-canada-flintridge-original-1939/7762703050.html email: 918c84d305c5397583e07f7659308974@sale.craigslist.org
  2. I don't post many Fords...there are so many they generally aren't interesting. I like this one because A's are such a great way into the hobby. Very active clubs, and (unlike T's) no one uses a trailer to get to events. https://orangecounty.craigslist.org/cto/d/mission-viejo-1928-ford-model-special/7763805926.html 1928 Ford Model A Special Coupe 49-A Almost all original with the exception of door panels, seat cover and engine. Model B engine This is an early 1928 with red steering wheel. I bought this car a few months ago after deciding I wanted a Model A but it has turned into a bigger project than I thought. It is currently registered and I have title in hand. The car had been sitting from 1966-2024 only started and driven around the block a few times in that period. It drives, steers and stops though steering is vague and stopping decent (much better since I adjusted brakes). It runs great and does not overheat. My driving has consisted of 25mph in my neighborhood for 30-45 minutes at a time with a few 45mph runs on main streets. At that speed the play in the steering that is manageable at low speed is sketchy so the box will need rebuild. The rear axle is noisy and will need some attention as well. I replaced spark plugs and leads and the coil. I rebuilt the carburetor and replaced fuel shutoff valve. Tank is in good shape no rust seen. I replaced the wiring harness including dash and generator. Replaced brake light switch. I greased front and rear wheel bearings and the chassis. I changed oil/trans/rear axle fluid and flushed the cooling system. I may do other projects as time goes by and the price will be more firm. I have a vintage turn signal setup and seat belts that may be installed in the coming weeks. I really love the patina and originality of this car and if it doesn't sell I am happy to keep it. That being said, I am open to offers within reason. email: 537a9ac3c1ab34f6afb60571eae455ce@sale.craigslist.org
  3. I had to see about that town name! Here's what I found: Ten Sleep was originally named Sackett, after the Colonel who mapped the area. Trappers later named it Ten Sleep after the Indian method of determining distance. The area was ten sleeps from Yellowstone and ten sleeps from Ft. Laramie. Sounds pretty remote!
  4. Not different parts of the country, just different Northern California CL regions. The ones that really annoy me are when they post the same car on the same CL site multiple times (which this person also did).

  9. Looks like a decent car for the price. One issue; it's an hour outside of St Ignatius, MT. A long way to anywhere.

  12. I'm a bit of an old grouch on this style of Speedster...it would have been way out of date in '27, plus of course all that brass. We love it today but in '27 it was as sexy as grandma's high button shoes! Still, it does look like fun! (more pics in ad) https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/d/vacaville-ford-model-runs-trade-classic/7762443121.html CLEAN TITLE older restoration but still looks nice! currently registered and being used as a weekend car. original engine and transmission. 13. A very nice survivor! Florence is a very pretty town on the coast, so I'm a bit amazed the salt air has left the chrome in such good condition! Price seems correct. A perfect example of "rare" does not equal valuable. Thanks for posting!
  14. Perfect body and Rat Rod should never be used together!
  15. That definitely falls into the seldom seen category! I would think that it's an EMW, given the build date and location. Still, there the Bimmer crowd would love to see it. I hope it finds a good home. I believe the engine would have been the same as the English Bristol.
  16. I could live with the exterior (especially if modified per Walt G's suggestions) but that interior...MAN!
  17. One more alternative: Actual Castor-based oil. This was used extensively in period and until fairly recently used by the 2 stroke crowd. In my youth, nearly all 4 cylinder Porsche racers used it, and the sweet smell was a fixture of every race meeting. It would be period correct for most pre-war cars!
  18. No rust or dents showing, and the chrome looked good too. Couldn’t say much for the housekeeping!
  19. I know some of my hot-rod 4 banger friends think synthetic gives an edge with their non pressure systems.
  20. I'd love to see it restored! It's not only automotive history, it's also telecom history. Just think how that history shaped the 20th centaury! I smile every time I see a Bell System man hole cover.
  21. Back in the 60's, there was a problem with Porsche's new mag wheels. The lug nuts were also alloy, and if the tire shop had their gun set too high, they'd just disintegrate.
  22. These and the Rivera are really the best designs of the period! It's interesting how my perception of them has changed...I still think they are beautiful but now they also seem huge!
