  3. This is the ad that did it! 1930 Model A Ford Fordor - $8750 (Macungie, PA) Briggs Body Style; This Model A Fordor has a rebuilt engine and fresh fluids, only driven 200 miles or so since rebuild. Ready to drive! Runs GREAT! Have been running this around town much to the delight of neighbors. Antifreeze always in radiator, fresh oil. A good solid car, wood is solid. Club members who know far more about this one stated it is a good solid car. Can use repainting, which is why it is priced where it is. Interior was redone in 1970's, not perfect, but seats are solid, a bit of wear on headliner and some interior panels. You won't find a car this solid for less. Fordors are popular today as they are comfortable to drive. This Model A is listed elsewhere and will be removed from this listing immediately if it sells locally or elsewhere.Mileage is obviously well over 5882. Odometer and speedometer work. Gas float sometimes sticks, though.Ladies and gentlemen, you just don't see a Fordor every day! These are popular as they are enclosed, can be driven comfortably when it's cold outside, and you can pile the wife and kids in with plenty of room to spare. Front seat is adjustable, so if you're packing a few extra pounds (LOL!), you can still drive this baby! This year, NEW battery, points and condenser!I believe the colour is Kewanee Green. Rims, I believe, are Apple Green.Just got a rainshower, and does not appear to leak a drop inside. *** Photographs are part of the description.***All sales are final. Sold AS IS! Buyer is responsible for moving this car off of property and any transfer fees. No warranty is implied or in effect. Despite this, it is a good solid car and priced to move!Roadworthy and fun to drive! Also, when the engine was rebuilt, the muffler/tailpipe assembly was replaced, as well as other new parts, such as the coil, etc. Much work done by Steve Ryan (R.I.P., Steve, a true friend!) as part of a Lehigh Valley Model A Club project in 2016.CASH ONLY!!! (Having said that, if you must, you can mail me a personal check, but you cannot pick up this car until, at a minimum, ten business days have passed since I have cashed the check. So, you can see why cash is king!)I challenge you to find a better 1930 Ford Model A Fordor on the market today with this attractive a price!Just dropped price to $8750. 11. Remember this '28 Buick didn't even sell at $18k in excellent condition? Talk about disappointing.
  12. Maybe they should stop talking about "mobility services" and focus on making pickups like the F150 and F250 and the Ranger.
  13. I saw these all over San Francisco last time I went there. They are the Ford GoBike. You rent them with your smart phone and unlock them. Forbes: As the company transitions from a manufacturer/financer of vehicles to a provider of mobility services, an entire industrial infrastructure will have to be dismantled. Ford has pegged the restructuring costs at $11 billion over a three-to-five year period, including $7 billion in cash costs. Ford's annual dividend payout for 2018 was $2.905 billion. So, Ford could fully finance its restructuring by eliminating the common dividend. Moody's also mentioned the move toward electrification in automotive, but no one is making profits on BEVs now—certainly not Tesla. Electric vehicle sales have been disappointing in the Western markets, and the one market that has shown decent—near 5%—penetration for BEVs, China, is currently crashing. China's vehicle sales fell for the 14th month out of the past 15 in August, and sales of New Energy Vehicles (BEVs and hybrids) actually posted a year-on-year decline. So, Ford is losing money on the few BEVs it currently sells around the globe and losing loads of money in China, where the company's marketing strategy has failed miserably.
  14. They both convert angular motion to linear motion; or rotational motion to linear motion. The same as the connecting rod, which converts rotational motion of the crankshaft to linear motion of the piston.
  15. The pitman arm in the sawmill and the automobile steering pitman arm serve the same function.

  17. These are 1930 Model A's. When I search locally this is what I find. I would say that yes if someone is looking for a project car to turn into a hotrod they will want and pay more for a coupe or 2-door and not want a 4-door. But in this case we have a complete original car to go on tours with, and enjoy weekend drives. I just don't think these rods were created from complete, original running examples.
  18. This DP-40 epoxy primer/sealer was better but no longer available in California. I painted that truck bumper almost 20 years ago, then it's been left out in the weather. It had started rusting and I just wanted to put a coat on it to preserve it. I'm impressed with how well it stuck, and how well it's held up. very durable. I painted parts of my Alfa Romeo with it where rust was starting, like underside of the hood, around the edge pinch weld was starting to show rust. Hate that. Moisture getting in there it can rust from the inside out.
  19. I would recommend this 2K sealer stuff. The difference between a sealer or primer/sealer and just regular primer is that the sealers do not allow moisture to pass through them. So if there is some rust left on the surface you paint it will be less likely to grow. I painted the seat back frame which had surface rust that I cleaned off as best I could. The seat pans were heavily rusted. They hold water. Deep rust pits. I went over them good with a wire brush (wheel on a drill) but didn't get it all. Then painted them. You can see the rust pits through the paint in the last picture.
  20. We're watching a Jeepster auction now. http://bringatrailer.com/listing/1950-willys-jeepster-7/
  21. I have never used POR 15 but DP-40 epoxy primer/sealer has great adhesion, and even if you don't remove all the rust it will last a long time. I did the back bumper on the Dodge truck with it about 15 years ago, and it has remained out in the weather. Maybe I'll post a pic tomorrow. DP-40 is no longer allowed to be sold in California though. I have now bought some 2K primer sealer, I think they call it, and have painted some rusty parts, such as "seat pans."
  22. I think it'd probably sell for $9,000 if located in California. You are in a bad location. And I don't believe the 4 doors are hurting the value.
  23. I've never seen Garage Squad, but it sounds like "Search and Restore."
