  1. One think he said that interested me is that It's ready to race Baja. That I'd like to see. That race is going on now actually. http://racer.com/2019/11/24/baja-1000-with-rossi-and-honda-day-3-hash-up/
  2. Owens-Corning makes Corelle Dinnerware.. Good stuff, get some.
  3. So if you had 2 by 6 wall framing, about 10% of the wall would have R value 7 (the studs - thermal bridge ) while the part that had the closed cell foam would have, what, R-19? So your overall r value for the wall would be 0.9 x 19 + 0.1 x 7 = 17.8 over R-value
  4. There's info on that stud thermal bridging. i don't think it's that big of a deal. One stud every 16 inches, and the stud is 1.5 inches. So the studs make up only about 9% of the running length of the wall. Studs have a lower R-value, but it's not zero. http://www.rvalue.net/page2.html Approximately 11% of your home is not insulated properly due to wood framing however, wall studs are a fact in home construction. Before you cover up the wall studs, making house insulation diagrams for any future reference is a good idea. The r-values of wood studs act as a thermal bridge. The r-values of wood can create a cold area in the insulation where the wood stud meets the sheetrock. The cold spots can compromise the insulation and lower the effective average R-values of the whole wall. In addition to the poor r-values of wood lowering the R-values of the wall, a cold spot may lead to condensation problems. Moisture could condense through wall studs, which generally have the lowest insulation r-values, and other framing materials of the home. If moisture does get into the wall cavity, moisture condensation can begin where the cold r-values of wood studs meet the sheetrock. The r-values of wood wall studs are linear and are measured in terms of inches. However, wood wall studs generally lower the r-values of your insulation. The r-values of wood are specified as 1.25 per inch.
  5. I think you either need to make a hook, and pull it out. Grab with the hook at the back, curved part of the clip. Or make a custom tool from a piece of scrap metal to push it out. Push against one of the tips of the clip. Push against one of the tips and get it part way off, then push against the other tip. The tool would be something like a slot screwdriver, but with a notch filed in the tip, so it can push the tip of the clip, without slipping off.
  6. That tool would appear to grab the clip, then you pull it out. But it does not seem that the tool would spread the clip and open it up. So it seems less than ideal.
  7. I never see workmanship like that around here. Just OSB, T-111, and Hardiboard siding. Cheap and easy.
  8. Does it need to go through the NHTSA crash testing program now to get certified for sale? http://www.nhtsa.gov/vehicle/2019/TESLA/MODEL%2520X%2520P100D/SUV/AWD
  9. Can you see the clips. with an LED flashlight, prying the escutcheon plate back? Do they look rusted?
  10. It is said to have been a "broken jumper" on a high voltage tower. Not finalized investigation yet, but I believe it. Our recent fire, and the bigger one last year in Paradise, California were both failures on high-voltage transmission lines, not regular power lines, so that is concerning. The high voltage lines are not supposed to be failure points, and all the vegetation below them is clear cut. The "jumper" is the little diagonal wire in the high-voltage picture. The other picture is just a regular power pole in the dry oak trees. Those power lines were shut off during the high winds, 50mph +/-.
  11. They are trying to assert you have no freedom to emit CO2 as you travel about. You would be classified as a criminal emitting pollutants. So there is no "personal freedom" to commit that criminal activity. Our city council has just now banned the use of natural gas in new homes. If you want to build a new house it would violate code for it to connect to gas or to have gas appliances. https://www.pressdemocrat.com/news/10301069-181/santa-rosa-moves-forward-on Starting in early 2020, plans for most new Santa Rosa homes likely won’t include natural gas stoves, fireplaces, furnaces and water heaters. The Santa Rosa City Council on Tuesday voted 6-0 to require the exclusive use of electric appliances in most new residential construction below four stories. The measure, which will need a second vote of approval and the California Energy Commission’s backing in the coming weeks, will put the city in the company of Windsor, Berkeley and other local governments across California that have passed a type of natural gas ban in the name of curbing climate change.
  12. https://www.hemmings.com/blog/article/the-royale-treatment-1931-reo-royale/ I see the image came from this link For passengers in the rear, cigarette lighter is set into rear window ledge
  13. I first saw one of these cars in a French movie. Can't remember what it was though unfortunately. An old black and white movie.
  14. I take a piece of wire. Bend just the very tip into a tiny hook. The hook at the end is just about 1/8 th inch only. Bend it over so it is just a bit over 90 degrees. Slide it in, going in flat, get behind the clip, then rotate the wire 90 degrees so you snag the clip with the hook end, then pull it out.

  16. The OP did not respond to that question because he considered it an inappropriate question. Therefore his failure to respond does not imply what you are trying to imply. If I wanted someone to look at a car out of state for me I would not include "willing to pay" in the post because I'd consider that tacky. At the same time I would not let anyone look at a car for me unless I paid them.
  17. We grew up with TV trays in the '60's and 70's, but I never heard of a TV stack stool before.
