  1. Hans Bjorkman 8 months ago (edited) What a faith for one of the nicest cars in the world. Ending up in a country where no one knows how to use a gearshift. Poor car! I own the original sales folder for this car in mint condition, that’s the first step I hope to get the car to match up the folder in the future. 😂 Folke Andresen I see it that way too. Probably the driver mistook the Mercedes Benz 500k for a picup! The cubic capacity may be identical, but that was all. You should let the engine warm up first. Shifting wasn't his forte either. You shift with feeling and give the transmission the necessary time. He probably only drives automatic. The automobile is of course a dream! jjeffery worboys It doesn't seem that you are at one with the car.
  2. I suppose Bob was joking, a large block of cement got dropped on the grill center piece. But it was covered by a blanket so got bent but not scratched.
  3. If you have a car with a clutch the flywheel is the friction surface so it's important that it's flat, and that it's installed on the crankshaft correctly so there is no wobble. You can check something like that by putting the gauge on it, zeroing it and turning the flywheel to see if the gauge stays at zero.
  4. Dial gage, measure 1/1000 of an inch. 0.001 inch. machinist's tool.
  5. KEVIN HART NO LAWSUITS FILED After Horrendous Car Crash Investigators concluded no one was wearing a seat belt and there were no safety harnesses in the car. There was also talk the company that customized the car would be sued since there were no safety harnesses in the vehicle. The fact is though, since no one even had a seat belt on, the harness would have gone unused and done no good. Our sources also say no money has changed hands as part of a settlement. It was suggested that it was negligent to make a car with that much power without including a safety harness and roll cage, because it would be easy to flip it. Legal negligence is when something is reasonably foreseeable and you do nothing to prevent it.
  6. Could be the correct engine if it's a 1912 3-Ton truck. Four cylinder with a 3.75 inch bore according to the info above.
  7. Well excuse me for not studying the photos more closely.
  8. I would suggest removing the carburetor. Then at least clean and inspect. Or overhaul with new gaskets. Clean all passages with spray Carburetor Cleaner. You can have water in a carburetor due to condensation. And of course change fuel lines and a new fuel filter. Maybe you can find a video on overhauling a vintage carburetor.

  10. Models, number of piston rings and dimensions in inches. This may be interesting for it lists White models over the years.
  11. 4 1/2 hours is a drive. Anything questionable I would pass.
  12. 1915 motor Age publication. Says the 1915 White Model 30 wheelbase is 115 inches.
  13. Is this some publication? I can't figure it out. Maybe it is just the text from some advertisement? It is a Brochure on file at the New York Public Library. Would need to look it up to see if it has more details in it. 3-TOP p.v. 104, No. 14 White - The Albatross, November 1914, Second Edition - Announcement Number - Volume 3, Number 26 1915 Models: "4-45" Touring Car [$3800]; "4-30" Touring Car [$2700]; "4-30" Roadster [$2700]; "4-30" Six-Passenger Town Car [$4200]; "4-30" Four-Passenger Sedan [$4200]; "4-45" Seven-Passenger Landaulet-Limousine [$5200]; "4-45" Seven-Passenger Limousine [$5200]; "4-45" Seven-Passenger Semi-Touring [$5400]; "6-60" Seven-Passenger Touring Car [$5500]; "6-60" Seven-Passenger Limousine; Motor Trucks The White Company, Cleveland, Ohio - Broadway at Sixty-second Street, New York, New York 32 p.; illustrations [The Caxton Company, Cleveland]
  14. That's another thing. Not just the orientation but the aspect ratio. You can choose the aspect ratio. What is the best to use? is it 16:9? Meaning 16 wide and 9 high? A 16:9 ratio is typically seen as optimal because it is capable of the highest resolution. It is also easy to capture this aspect ratio on almost all devices. To determine which video aspect ratio is best for your content, consider its purpose and where you'll be broadcasting the video. https://www.dacast.com/blog/video-aspect-ratio/
  15. So you're saying White #2 doesn't necessarily have the transmission in this picture? it is declared to be "new" 4 speed transmission Dec 1916 Horseless Age magazine https://www.google.com/books/edition/Horseless_Age/70_PnUtxg4QC?gbpv=1 (go to page 410)
  16. The old style black plates add a little value, because all the newer style plates look cheap or silly. You don't want current style plates on a vintage car. Looks wrong. After the black plates they went to blue then white \ New black plate looks wrong, not like the original. Letters too thick.
  17. You could always get new plates in California, if the old ones get damaged or whatever. For instance my Dad's '64 Dodge pickup had original 6 digit commercial black plates number N49687. Some sucker stole the chrome front bumper along with the front license plate. I went in and said both plates were stolen and they gave me new ones. You get the new current style. White background, dark blue letters, new number, 7 digit commercial plates. I still have the one original black plate that was on the rear.
