  1. You go to that thread, or topic, that you created, look at the top where it says "moderator actions" and click on that with your mouse pointer and then you see the word "Hide" and you click on that word Hide with your mouse pointer and it will all disappear.
  2. Premium is often the manufacturer recommended on the newer vehicles, like 1980's, when in fact there is no reason for it, and regular is adequate. if regular is not causing preignition it is adequate.
  3. Yes ethanol raises octane (prevents pre-ignition or pinging) But that does not necessarily mean premium has more ethanol than regular. In fact you can easily have a regular with ethanol while the premium has no ethanol. Ethanol might be added to a very low grade gas to bring it up to Reguilar octane level, while a high grade gas may rate as premium octane level without the addition of any ethanol.

  6. I don't even know what that is, fluid drive. I still have my dad's '64 Dodge that I inherited with the 3 speed on the column. Before he got the '64 I think he had a '53. I remember the '53, but not any details, except it was red and had wood for the bottom of the bed.
  7. Owner Andy Brunt Dodge B2B truck. One owner prior to me, 60,000 miles, starts, runs and drives beautifully. Fluid Drive 3 speed transmission. Amazing original condition and patina. No issues. Rare to find a truck like this one. (you can look this up on Facebook if you want to contact the owner)
  8. I will send the seller your phone number if you are seriously interested. i don't think the seller wants to be bothered by a bunch of looky loos. or if you are on facebook you can just look it up in martinez, california. i am figuring you do not use Facebook. if you want you can send me your number by private message and i will forward it to the seller. I can do that. i did not volunteer to relay a bunch of questipons back and forth, nor do I assume responsibility for getting all answers anyone wants. I will put you directly in touch if you like. that's it.
  9. You can sit in one of those tractor seats and shave using that round bathroom mirror. If you do that while actually driving on a public street be very careful though. It's a speedster or rat rod chassis alright.
  10. 1931 chevy - $5,000 (Titusville) Original 1931 Chevy . Only thing missing is a body. Everything on the car is original. Motor, transmission. Running gear. The seats and windshield can easily be removed if you plan on restoring the car. Or you can continue the rat rod theme. Lots and lots of potential for this 90 year old running car. Starts up and runs great. It turns heads everywhere I go in it. I also have a 1930 original sedan body available. $5000 for the car. $600 for the body. Body comes with the original cowling. It also comes with fiberglass fenders , front and rear. Thanks for looking !!
  11. The starter gear is not disengaging like it should. Otherwise very good news. Engine sounds good, smooth. Water pump should be at least moving some water even at idle, even though it won't be putting out much volume or pressure. So maybe you can remove the radiator cap while the engine is idling for a visual check that water is in fact circulating. Maybe you have already done that. I suppose you can bench test the starter, similar to a more modern one, and watch the gear kick forward and spin, and then retract when you de-energize.
  12. The massive 525 cu. in. T head motor fills the space under the long hood and looks as though it is capable of propelling a ten ton truck. Cast iron cylinders, cast in pairs, are bolted to the sturdy aluminum crankcase and the 2½ inch diameter valves are accessible through large removable plugs screwed in the top of the castings. Slip joints are provided in the exhaust manifold to allow for expansion due to heating. A gear driven oil pump supplies eight pounds pressure to the hollow, drop forged steel crankshaft for rods and mains. Small tubes fastened to the outside of the rods feed oil to the wrist pins. All moving parts were balanced to one hundredth part of an ounce to improve reliability, increase power and reduce vibration. The Carter carburetor is water-heated for improved vaporation although the water can be shut off if desired. Ignition is provided by a German Mea high tension magneto. The Mea magneto is trunion-mounted which permits ignition to be retarded for starting without changing the internal timing of the magneto. Since the E gap does not change, the spark is as strong at retard as it is at full advance for any given speed. A leather faced cone clutch which has 16 springs for smooth engagement transmits power to the rugged, separately mounted Brown and Lipe three speed transmission via a short shaft having two universal joints. An open drive shaft with two Spicer universal joints carries torque from the transmission to the rear axle. In lieu of a flywheel is a 24 volt electric starter having the same weight and diameter of a flywheel. The starting motor serves as a generator when the engine is running. http://www.carsandracingstuff.com/library/articles/18993.php
