  1. BTW, owner wants the top to that gas pump if you have one!
  2. Can’t argue about the timeless design of the ‘57 Chevy. Really beautiful car and this was a very nice specimen! Way better condition then my Ford.
  3. Well it did out sell the Chevy that year. But I’m partial...
  4. Let me know your opinion... no arguments. We are all adults and welcome to our opinions.
  5. I wonder if he meant 55 or 56? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Fairlane_Crown_Victoria_Skyliner
  6. “Skyliner was also used for the plexiglas “Bubble Tops” in the early 50’s.
  7. Thank you John for coming to the shop with me. It’s helpful having someone who knows what the mechanics are talking about along. Love the pic of you in the back seat!
  8. If you pay for cable, you can sign up to stream episodes here. You may also be able to find it “On Demand”, although my provider doesn’t have it yet. https://www.discovery.com/tv-shows/sticker-shock/
  9. I agree. While I think this show has some merit over others, I agree with your general assessment of the channel. They could still do a better car show IMHO. I wish the media would return return to a better class of programming. Especially the so called “news”. I miss reporters who reported news and not gossip for the sake of ratings and attention.
  10. That’s great! Love that he wore his shirt. And a very beautiful car!
  11. I saw him tonight on episode 2 with his AACA shirt on! Beautiful car!
  12. I found this TV show this evening on Discovery’s website. The second episode features a rare Keller and the owner is wearing an AACA shirt. It’s a beautiful car and one of only 3. The appraiser said it’s the nicest of the three. This incidentally is the show my 57 Skyliner was going to be on and I backed out of a couple days before they wanted to pick it up. I think it’s one of the better car shows on TV based on seeing the first two episodes. What do all of you think? https://www.discovery.com/tv-shows/sticker-shock/full-episodes/camaro-corvette-keller
  13. Agents base prices on past sales. Homes still have to appraise out. When there is a bidding war, it is because of demand. The buyer has to come up with the difference between what the lender will loan on and the appraisal. It makes no sense for agents to price homes over market value for this and many other reasons. You’d probably be surprised at home many homes don’t appraise out in a hot market like this. Appraisers have to go by past sales not future estimates of demand, especially in light of the last bank crises when lenders loaned over the value of homes.
  14. For the life of me, I don’t know how y’all can sell cars willingly. As you know, I had no choice. I avoided direct selling as much as possible, preferring to hire a friend to run an eBay listing. When I did have to communicate with buyers directly, I almost always wanted to smack them upside the head. I never, ever, felt that way selling homes. Maybe it was partially because they were my fathers, but mostly because of the unreasonable expectations and insulting “negotiations’ of some of the prospects. It felt like they mostly just wanted a tour of what he had or thought pointing out every little flaw was a good way to justify offering 10-50% of what I eventually sold them for. If we are not even close in price, don’t waste my time! I thought it was just because of my situation and the vultures were hoping to take advantage of me. I’m sorry that it seems jerks like that bother others in the hobby also. On a a positive note, there were many great people I met along the way who were very helpful. Many more then the jerks.
  15. Thank you @Pilgrim65! Looks like a great museum. Thanks for posting.
  16. The car didn’t come from the factory perfect, so if that is the standard you want, do a full restoration and store the car in a climate controlled garage. The first time you drive it, it will need more restoration. Perfect isn’t a destination, it’s an ongoing journey.
  17. That yellow 1957 Skyliner Retractable is my favorite. ? Beautiful cars!
  18. That isn’t me. Lol. I was in a restaurant and she said the picture (of her and her sis) was taken in the 50’s. I told her I thought that must be a used car from the 40’s. We both started wondering about the car... Work is good but very busy. The new GM, Asst GM and I (Sales Manager), are addressing a lot of issues that had been ignored in the past. As you can imagine, not everyone is happy and there is a lot of hiring and staff changes going on. We almost have the team and culture where we want it so we can focus on growth. Thanks Mike!
  19. Thanks for helping her. As another lady who has benefitted from similar help from kind Texans and Oregonians, I can imagine she is just as grateful as I have been for kind souls like you!
