  1. Hi Digger, I’m doing ok. I have two cars in storage, the Ford and the Corvair. The plan by now was to have a property with onsite storage, but that has been delayed. It just doesn’t make sense on paper to keep paying the storage, especially since the price keeps going up. I don’t always do what makes sense though, often I’m ruled by sentiment. I run her regularly and am keeping her in good shape. I think of my dad with every drive and have mixed emotions about selling her. I figure if the right person comes along, it is meant to be. I priced her fairly and would let her go to the right person for that price. I’m sure you all know if I was in a hurry to sell her, she would have been sold by now, just like the rest. I’m waiting for it to cool down here in FL and may take more pictures and properly market her for sale if the storage fees don’t stop rising.
  2. That line on the rear fender looks like it could be a 57 Ford, but nothing else does.
  3. Post this in Corvair groups on FB. One is called “Corvair Owners Group”. Also could contact www.Corvair.org club. Looks nice!
  4. Fredericksburg, Tx has an amazing museum in honor of Nimitz. It was his hometown. It’s a great place to visit also!
  5. @Terry Bond this one is for RI. I thought it also posted a link but I see it didn’t. (I tried again and it’s won’t let me, so one needs to Google it.)
  6. Apparently you didn’t read my posts where I 1) Posted a link to RI bonded title info and 2) Posted a copy of the form.
  7. Correct, but the seller could apply in Illinois before he sells the car. Or apply in RI for a bonded title as a last resort to see if he can get it titled, if he already bought it.
  8. If you buy a car with no title in the US, there is no guarantee you can get it titled. It’s best not to buy cars without title, but if you already did, there is a possibility you may be able to title it.
  9. I literally posted Illinois’ bonded title process above. I’ve obtained titles for cars before. Depends on the state’s laws, what documentation you have, a vin inspection to prove it’s not stolen, and a bit of luck and persistence.
  10. Ask the DMV about the bonded title process. https://www.ilsos.gov/publications/pdf_publications/rtopr26.pdf
  11. Beautiful Impala! 💗💗💗 A friend had a Chevelle in that color and seeing it in person was a real treat.
  12. Wow! 😍😍😍 that is gorgeous, what an awesome GTO.
  13. A 65 2 door hardtop in the one year “evening orchid” is on my wish list.
  14. I can’t wait to get my ‘63 Spyder 4 Speed Vert running and take it for a spin. I come from a family who had Corvair’s as long back as I can remember. I have found the right person for the job and am on his waitlist. Nader just makes them more fun to talk about. My grandfather, who was an engineer, had an Ultra Van and was always working on Corvair’s. I went to several Ultra Van rally’s with him and my grandmother. He wrote tech memos for the Ultra Vans they still use. My dad had a Rampy, Greenbrier and the ‘63. Here’s a pic from the 80’s (bottom), and a recent one of the same car.
  15. Curious if anyone will be at the show on March 9th.
  16. Keep maintenance and other receipts to andd to the basis and don’t forget the step up when you inherit, assuming the estate you inherited isn’t in the millions.
  17. 1957 Ford. It even outsold Chevy that year. I like the lines.
  18. It was good, but not worth the trip to ER. 😆My son ordered it from some famous place. He was going to put it in the oven but got sidetracked and I thought I’d “help”. 🙄 We have a three year supply of leftovers in the freezer because “a whole one wasn’t much more expensive than a half”. 🤷‍♀️
  19. Same here, this isn’t the first time for me either. They did leave the door open for next year, so I’m looking forward to that.
