  1. Finally got my 66 GS beater out if the paint shop yesterday . Still got a few minor things to tidy up but thought I would share a couple pics . As discussed above the color is now the correct Code B -gunmetal gray . Apologize for all the glare /shadows but wanted to try and get a few shots of the color which is anything but gray . The dual quads are my add on to this MW 425- it is not an MZ code. Originally an Oregon bought car so non-AC . This was my steep (and expensive )learning curve on EBay about three years ago. Saw about 50 pics which in retrospect had been photoshopped . Seller said paint was 7-8 /10 .Was actually 3/10 having been painted black lacquer in a Kansas sandstorm apparently ( that was fun to get off along with the other two coats of paint) . Only rust was the battery tray and the lower front driver fender next to the battery tray. Hard to believe but the seller never returned any of my calls after I got the car. đŸ€”Anyway it’s about done and is fun to drive KReed ROA 14549

    '67 Grill

Hi Paul- can’t bear the thought of a good grill going to waste . Can you get a ball park shipping cost to Des Moines ? Thanks Ken KReed ROA 14549
  5. BTW it also has a 67 grill instead of a 66. Not sure what that means overall to any prospective buyer but wanted to mention it . KReed ROA 14549
  6. Got lots more pictures from Jeremy . He said he might post them but is listing the car in other venues as well. It is apparently a complete numbers matching silver mist poly GS ( Code WW with 618 interior) with the MW code 425 . The brakes are locked up and he can't get under it to verify BS tranny or posi rear end . Strato bench seats, AC , manual windows and antenna , AM radio, power seat, spreadbore carb, correct GS air cleaner. Motor is not froze up . . Floor pans are toast in passenger compartment and trunk , quarters and A-pillars very bad , headliner and ail panels falling out. It possibly could be restored but would take $$$$ . He is asking 4 K . He's a great guy with good knowledge of Riviera's so give him a call at the number above if interested . I'm gonna pass . KReed ROA 14549
  7. Talked to Jeremy last night - apparently a real deal GS . He’s sending me more pics today - probably will go look at it this weekend. Like I need another project !😀 Wife is skeptical KReed ROA 14549
  8. Thanks Jim and Gabriel - I actually know Jeremy having bought a 66 Riviera parts car from him about 5 years ago . Didn’t know he was in the restoration business now. I’ll give him a call. Appreciate the help .Ken KReed ROA 14549
  9. Trying to find the contact for this owner but no luck - might go look at this car . Any help would be appreciated. Thanks KReed ROA 14549
  10. Ok that makes sense Mr. Clamshell. Until next time ( and I'm sure there will be many) KReed ROA 14549
  11. Rivdrivn was in first with Seafoam right behind . Exactly right. Blown wiper fuse ! Why would GM put those two things In The same circuit? I learn something everyday about these great cars . Thanks guys ! KReed ROA 14549
  12. Those are killer wheels on your 65 ! What are they ? Thanks KReed ROA 14549
  13. That's what I thought I was in for , but No . It was much easier than that! HINT ; 30 cents . KReed ROA 14549
  14. Clue - answer buried deep in dealer service bulletin . KReed ROA 14549
  15. That’s what I usually do but no that’s not quite it . KReed ROA 14549
  16. This is a pop quiz for all you Riviera guys. My 65 Riviera clamshell headlights have been working perfect until a few days ago . They would open but would not close . Everyone knows how finicky they can be . I was dreading figuring it out but thanks to Tom Mooney and his unlimited knowledge and wealth of dealer bulletins, got it fixed in 5 minutes . First person to tell what I did will be named the “ Tom Mooney Clamshell Guru” - an honor bestowed to only a very few ! 😀 ( had to share this as very few things are this easy .....maybe everyone knows this but it was news to me .) 17. Any secrets to painting over chrome ? Rough it up first and the prime ? KReed ROA. 14549
  18. Thanks - that is indeed a bargain . I assume at that price it does not include painting the centers . Rally America was charging $350 for a completely done wheel before they discontinued it . KReed ROA 14549
  19. P Thanks I would very much appreciate it. KReed 14549
  20. Now that Rally America apparently no longer does chrome rally wheel restoration , is there anyone else that is recommended ? Thanks KReed ROA 14549
  21. Out and about for about 50 miles today . Weather finally was nice . KReed ROA 14549
  22. I am looking for a good driver side door lock mechanism for a 66 Riviera . Just found my main spring broken that controls the latch . This is for a deluxe interior, i.e rear handle . Please see pics . Grease/ little rust is no problem , just functional Would appreciate any help KReed ROA 14549
  23. Thanks for the info Tom . Sending you a PM so all the members won't get bored with this thread . KReed ROA 14549
  24. The plot thickens ! Did a you said Jason and took the two that I thought were non-functional, grounded them to the car and touched each terminal with positive off battery and both clicked perfectly on the yellow wire terminal . Took the one that was working out of the car and did the same test and NO terminal clicked . Put it back in car and worked perfectly . Now I am confused ! Particularly since one of the two that I thought was non functional was working before the paint job. Like I said In my first post , I am idiot when it comes to car electrical stuff. Would reversing the two top wires in the plug in make them work ? I am beginning to think that the 65 and 66 are two different relays internally although they look identical and are numbered the same in the terminal area on the bottom đŸ€” KReed ROA 14549
