I was driving my 66GS to the Buick Regional in Stillwater ,MN last week and blew out my right front tire going about 75mph .The tire literally exploded causing me to go immediately right .Thank goodness I was in the right lane instead of the passing lane with a semi next to me or I wouldn’t be writing this note. The tires had less than 2000 miles on them when I bought the car but..... were made in 2009 . I knew that but was hoping to squeeze a little 500 mile trip out of them - big mistake! The “explosion “ did lots of paint damage to my fender, hood, wheel well and trim on the passenger side ( $6700 worth). Thanks to Hagerty for outstanding service and immediate appraisal.. Lesson : no matter how good they look , ten years of rubber drying out and rubber fatigue can get you killed ! KReed ROA 14549 .

That is a wonderful video. We need this group at next years ROA in Kalamazoo ! We were at the BCA Heartland Regional in Stillwater,MN this weekend . Great show with at least 10 Riviera's . Gave away awards for "top ten" of which 4 were Rivieras. Our ' 72 did well . Last pic looking over the hood as we headed east at 6:00 AM . Quick update - forgot to mention that I have a few NOS in the box ,never installed trishield, trunk bezels for 65 Riviera ‘s and a couple very nice used bezels . The NOS bezels are $450 and the used ones are $ 300. Yes , that is a ridiculous price but try and find a good one. Also have a couple 8 pc rocker trim sets for 65 Riviera . Kept her home as the weather was a dicey and she has never seen the rain , at least yet . The underside is a pain to clean up particularly. The white 64 was their "get way car" from the dinner/dance last night so picked that one up in a monsoon at midnight - -cleanup today . The others had been put up a few hours earlier . It was a fun day for us and hopefully them too . KReed ROA 14549

Our Senior Pastor's daughter is getting married today and they asked if they could use a few of our cars for the wedding party to which we happily agreed . These 20 something kids didn't even know what a Riviera was - they do now . The bride and groom wanted the white 64 and the 8 bridesmaids and groomsmen doubled up in the other 4. My 65GS is “supposed “ to finally be done in a couple of weeks after two years . Ideally, i would like to have it shipped from Montgomery , TX to OKC for the show and then three days later taken home to Des Moines when the show is over. I want a dedicated shipper , enclosed trailer , preferably one car hauler with some extra space for all my left overs from the restoration. Know it’s asking a lot and won’t be cheap but anyone knows of an individual hauler in that vicinty with flexibility , I would appreciate hearing about it . Thanks much KReed ROA 14549 PS . The guy actually sent me an email re-describing the car . I responded that I would fly out tomorrow if he would simply show me a copy of the title and give me an address to look at the car . He said he would be glad for me to wire him the money first and then we could work something out on an inspection of the car in Washington state .
