  3. As my car war not ready in time I drove my work truck ,a Ford model AA some 200km to and from the rally . I was the tail end charlie with the trailer and moden ute to be the back up and break down repairer.

Over the five days about 500km (300miles) .Day 1 -75km, day 2 -110km ,day 3 -35km, day 4-150km, day 5-130km, day 3 was a short run just out of town to Lislie Dam the Warwick water supply and than a free afternoon for all to do as they wish and have good look around town . I have just returned from the Dodge Brothers 10 th National Rally (9th to 14th ) held in Warwick Queensland Australia on Southern Downs country side , in all 62 cars attended ranging from 1917 to 1938 , In all we had a great time and a very well run rally . I will post pics over the next few days Bob

  14. 30 degrees is not hot , well not that hot over here ,thats a mild winters day at the moment with temps around 27 to 31 deg in what is our mid winter which should have temps like 1 to 2 in morning and 12 to 15 during the day , any way enough of that . Have you checked your ignition condenser ? these will give the same sympt as vapourising when the motor gets hot on more so if you try run the motor at higher speed under load . 9 out 10 carb troubles are ignition faults , so always check there first Bob

Check your float level , on these carbs to low a float level will give lean running at all speeds, level is 1/16 to 1/32 below the machined surface of the lower body to the cylinder body of the float with the needle closed. Turn the lower body up side down an place a straight edge across the machined edge to get a good reading. bob
  17. Glad to see it is working now , yes you are right they do some times have a mind of there own , women ? it is some times best not to comet on such subjects if one wishes to live a full free life. Bob
  18. It is possible that you have broken bendix spring , it is behind the small gear on the starter bob
