  1. They are not from the 1928 129/9 cars . The 128s have a raised pressing the length of the valance about 4 inches wide and a "eye " pressing around the hole. Nothing like my Model A ones also . Bob
  2. I have had my 28 Dodge Brothers Fast Four as a daily car for the past 37 years as well for the last 15 years a 29 Ford AA work truck . there is no problem with them being reliable , to say that they are more reliable when used often . They are very cheap to run and maintain and no trouble with traffic , 300 to 500 mile trips in the Dodge is done very often . It is good to see a young driver appreciate vintage cars and to know how much a "limousine " the modern gadget loaded car ( as most of it is not required for it to perform its basic task ) has become . Bob
  3. That car is 1928 series 128 , 108 inch wheel base ,open tail shaft , single plate clutch, 2 inch taller radiator and shroud, hand brake on rear gear box, engine as well (not knowing what engine you have ),just name a few things different to your car . bob
  4. You should be able to do basic testing with this information in these diagrams. Bob
  5. Sorry I had to load these pics in 5 down loads but we have some what poor web service here , as one can see there was about 3 days work to reclaim this 2249 radiator after the "butcher " had had his go at it , but alls well I managed to save the original top tank and top plate and reproduced the top fittings as original . The radiator with modern core has a grater cooling ability than the original (we need here in Australia ) and now fits the original shroud correctly . A special thanks to DB2251 for the loan of a shroud and original radiator to allow me to get all things in there correct place .Regards Bob
  6. Therer is some problem with the web here , so will try tomorrow at work.Bob
  7. If I can get this computer to run longer than 30 seconds on the AACA up load site I post some pics of the radiator restoration for Terry that is now compleate . Please bear with me , will keep trying . Bob
  8. Yes there is a number stamped there and in the pic I to can not read it ,will get the owner to forward it to us soon . The exhaust was modified meny years ago when this engine ran an irrigation pump (motor out of car of corse ) and until we can find a replacment or after the buggs are all worked out we are going to correct these things . Info soon Bob
  9. Hi Nick ,just a littel point to keep in mind that the front wheel hubs are slightly differant in size between two and four weel brake cars .Bob

  13. Ray if the gasket is a double copper that is copper all pver on both sides an no breakes around the fire ring than clean with mineral sprits spray a generous coat of silver paint let tac an than another while wet install and tighten in usal way and retightin after engine is hot. I have done this many times with out any problems but the gasket must be clean and unmarked around the fire rings,40 to45 lbs is usally enough than after 300to 500 miles tighten again . Bob
  14. It seams I cant spell even when looking at the thing . Bob
  15. Fred that is an " R " on the end SENIOR , it looks like there is some damage to the bottom of the R . Bob
  16. Yes Ray , well almost . one inpit shaft and second gear , Two clutch plates , One tailshaft ,One set of front and rear wheel bearings, Two brake relines, an four exhast mufflers(one I had exlplode due to bad ignition conection ) and I think there was six of seven sets of tyers, about four batteries, the generator and starter have never been repaired and the spark have never been changed in that time, that about as much as I can remember at the monent Bob
  17. Have done over 350.000 miles on pump fuel in my Dodge 4 over 35 years and only had to replace one exhaust valve in that time due to the adjuster coming lose and valve head burning. I have only relaped the valves twice over the years when the head was of due to blown head gaskets, set the ehahaust at 0.008 " and the inlet at 0.006 engine cold and let them work . The car is used every day and is run on unleaded fuel, the mileage that you will do would not hurt the valves at all .I think to little use will do more damage. Ray have bracket and will put in post next week Bob.
  18. How about a pic of what you are talking about , pics make life simple Bob
