  4. Some automotive historians feel that the term also describes a nonfunctional circular bulge that is stamped into the trunk lid or a cosmetic accessory to the rear of the car giving the impression of a spare tire mount. Made popular by a number of Italian bodied Chrysler concept cars, and later embraced by Chrysler designer Virgil Exner, this idea made its way to production models on the Imperials in 1957 and worked their way down to baseline Valiant compacts by the early 1960s.

  11. Two Missouri farmers, Jim and Bob, are sitting at their favorite bar, drinking beer. Jim turns to Bob and says, "You know, I'm tired of going through life without an education. Tomorrow I think I'll go to the Community College and sign up for some classes." Bob thinks it's a good idea, and the two leave. The next day, Jim goes down to the college and meets Dean of Admissions, who signs him up for the four basic classes:.........Math, English, History, and Logic. "Logic?" Jim says. "What's that?" The dean says, "I'll give you an example. Do you own a weed eater?" "Yeah." "Then logically speaking, because you own a weed eater, I think that you would have a yard." "That's true, I do have a yard." "I'm not done," the dean says. "Because you have a yard, I think logically that you would have a house." "Yes, I do have a house." "And because you have a house, I think that you might logically have a family." "Yes, I have a family." "I'm not done yet. Because you have a family, then logically you must have a wife. And because you have a wife, then logic tells me you must be a heterosexual." "I am a heterosexual. That's amazing, you were able to find out all of that because I have a weed eater." Excited to take the class now, Jim shakes the Dean's hand and leaves to go meet Bob at the bar. He tells Bob about his classes, how he is signed up for Math, English, History, and Logic. "Logic?" Bob says, "What's that?" Jim says, "I'll give you an example. Do you have a weed eater?" "No." "Then you're a queer... "

  14. May be the Canadian Army was with the British Army Tank because they were in the Commonwealth. I guess they were encouraging the USA to join in the War ? In Newfoundland some fishing villages were completely destroyed as all the men were drafted in the the same Unit and killed in Battle. Then there were was only woman left to fish in the Ocean and they couldn't and left the village. In 1914, Canada was a self-governing dominion of the BritishEmpire, but it did not control its own foreign affairs. ... In 1914, most, but by no means all, Canadians would have agreed with the 1910 statement of Prime Minister Sir Wilfrid Laurier that “when Britain is at war, Canada is at war.
  15. Well I finally got the air recycle switch working properly. If it was warmer I would have had quicker results but winter is here. I sprayed the switch over a few weeks time frame and it works. I used Asalco SUPER WASH cost $20 I should of used a vacuum cleaner like Carl suggested right at the start. If it ever happens again I would. Rusty's idea with compressed air is a good idea to push the cleaner into switch spring area. Digger's idea of a good cleaner was very helpful. Thanks to everyone's advice.
  16. That carpet really tied the place together, man!' In The Big Lebowski, the American dream comes down to the “Dude” owning a beautiful rug. The rugsymbolizes the validation of his lifestyle. In your home, a rug will “tie the room together” by being the piece that is a little bit of a dream to add luxury to your room.Apr 25, 2019
  17. I also liked his Threads and comments. If you fellows need a hernia repair come to Toronto where the best repairs are done and you are walking the next day. For over 70 years the Surgeons and staff of Shouldice Hospital have dedicated themselves to repairing abdominal wall hernias; it’s all we do, having performed over 400,000 successful hernia repairs using our natural tissue technique without the use of surgical mesh and its serious complications.
  18. In Canada a former Government Member of Parliament who would be equal to a Member of Congress in the USA His credentials are posted below. He posts what gasoline prices will be ahead of the changes at the pump saving citizens money every week. I assume he knows something about Energy implications to the economy and posted this article below and the affects to the Automobile based economy. Read the whole article if you want more information here are some of the highlights. But, as an economist and Global Britain think tank director Ewen Stewart argued, this is “frankly one of the most illiberal and economically destructive policies ever to come from Whitehall. It risks hundreds of thousands of livelihoods and much-needed exports for the most marginal benefit.” “The implications of this ban [in a country with only 1% EVs] are immense in terms of manufacture, supply chains, investment, sunk capital, employment, infrastructure, consumer choice, the value of existing stock, and so much more,” Stewart explained. “Never before has a government dared to close down an entire and critical industry almost overnight, by diktat.” It is delusional, he continued, to believe that destroying a successful British industry by banning IC engines – rather than letting consumer choice determine the market – will be good for the economy. Today’s British automotive sector comprises a fifth of the nation’s manufacturing base, with over 80% of the 1.3 million cars it manufactures being exported. That’s 13% of the UK’s entire export market. The UK automotive industry employs over 180,000 Britons directly and many hundreds of thousands more indirectly. But the United Kingdom cannot compete with China for the global EV market, because UK labor costs are far higher, and its energy is increasingly far more expensive and unreliable. Worse, Stewart pointed out, this virtue signaling will have at best a minuscule benefits for the UK and global environment but will be devastating for automobile owners. The British government already vastly diminished the value of the nation’s 12 million diesel vehicles with surcharges that cost owners of pre-2015 diesel vehicles up to $67 per week just to drive in “ultra-low-emission zones.” Other costs included doubling parking permit rates and higher taxes for diesel vehicles. Moreover, with other government mandates driving up the cost of electricity, the cost of motoring could double, driving working classes entirely off the roads. The absurdity of this British assault on its own existing auto industry is made even more ridiculous by the fact that widescale electrification doesn’t change current mobility patterns – and only manages to reduce transportation greenhouse gas emissions 15% by 2050, Spanish systems engineering expert Margarita Mediaville explained. To call EVs “green” or “sustainable” is patently absurd. A separate report from Securing America’s Future Energy indicates China controls nearly 70% of electric vehicle battery manufacturing capacity, compared to just 10% by the USA. The report projects that 107 of the 142 EV battery manufacturing projects scheduled by 2021 will be in China, with only nine in the U.S. Moving toward mandatory EVs will clearly enrich China at America’s expense. Renowned for his work on gasoline prices, McTeague has devoted much effort on pinpointing the causes(s) of rising fuel prices, going as far as running a website aiming to predict gas prices the day before they are posted in cities across Canada. He received support from all parties on the Industry Committee to strike a subcommittee for the purpose of examining the role of institutional investors, hedge funds and lending institutions in purchasing large contracts in oil and natural gas on the futures commodity market in driving the price of commodities beyond normal market fundamentals. Daniel P. McTeague, PC (born October 16, 1962) is a Canadian businessman, former public servant and former politician. McTeague served as Member of Parliament for the Ontario riding of Pickering—Scarborough East.

  21. I asked a Reo Member and he thinks it is a Reo Fire Truck beside the converted Packard ? t could be. The pressing on the fender is consistent with a ’27, and possibly the radiator emblem also. I wanted to look at it closer, but when I enlarged it all I got was pixels. Couldn’t see anything really. So can’t say one way or the other. The emblem below is from a ’27.
  22. The 1926 T6 is still for sale I received this a few minutes ago. I assume someone walked away from the deal ? ? The following is a reply to your conversation regarding " 1926 Reo T6 roadster " on Kijiji: Dave: Still available Reply to Dave
