  1. Amazing, De Soto Frank we came up with the same photo at about the same time.
  2. It's from a '38 Dodge. I had to sort out so much garbage on google when doing all my searching. I even had shoes come up!
  3. That's what I was thinking too. It does look like it's missing the radiator shell. That makes identifying the car much more challenging.
  4. The name was intended that the model "dictated the standard" that other automobile makes would be obliged to follow.
  5. Are you sure that it is American? I tried searching and comparing many American autos of that era and found nothing convincingly similar.
  6. In some cases it can be a build-up of dust, grime or dried out grease on the moving parts inside the speedometer. This is just an example and not your actual speedometer head. Yours will be similar.
  7. Here on borrowed from the HAMB's "Vintage shots from days gone by!" thread.
  8. There's only one classical radio station on the Portland OR airwaves.
  9. 113 horses under the hood plus one in the back.
  10. I knew Patrick's brother in law at the time and I asked him if Patrick had a preference for using Rivieras in the movie. He said no but he did buy one Mercedes coupes used in the movie.
  11. Maybe because there's enough NOS and good used stuff still out there? If I still had my '63, I'd prefer the genuine GM parts over that re-pop junk like some that's available for other cars. I was able to find decent used stuff most of the time at the local self service wrecking yard back when I had my '63.
  12. That's probably the easiest way to go about it. I've been a member of various forums for over 10 years and I'm still learning things.
  13. I'd like to stumble upon a nice early 30's Dodge, next year when I'm hoping to have a better source of income.
  14. I'm hoping to have something in the next 2-1/2 years. It all depends on what I stumble upon.
  15. I'd like to go too but I think I'd need a Dodge first.
  16. Just quoting the instructions found in the FAQ's here.
  17. That's a beautiful car, no where near the rough condition I was imagining by the earlier write up. I see lots of great potential in that gem.
  18. Attachments and Images How do I attach a file to a post? To attach a file to your post, you need to be using the main 'New Post' or 'New Thread' page and not 'Quick Reply'. To use the main 'New Post' page, click the 'Post Reply' button in the relevant thread. On this page, below the message box, you will find a button labelled 'Manage Attachments'. Clicking this button will open a new window for uploading attachments. You can upload an attachment either from your computer or from another URL by using the appropriate box on this page. Alternatively you can click the Attachment Icon to open this page. To upload a file from your computer, click the 'Browse' button and locate the file. To upload a file from another URL, enter the full URL for the file in the second box on this page. Once you have completed one of the boxes, click 'Upload'. Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window. You can then close the window to return to the new post screen. What files types can I use? How large can attachments be? In the attachment window you will find a list of the allowed file types and their maximum sizes. Files that are larger than these sizes will be rejected. There may also be an overall quota limit to the number of attachments you can post to the board. How do I add an image to a post? If you have uploaded an image as an attachment, you can click the arrow next to the 'Attachment Icon' and select it from the list. This will be inserted into your post and can be located where you want it displayed. To include an image that is not uploaded as an attachment and is located on another website, you can do so by copying the full URL to the image, (not the page on which the image is located), and either pressing the 'Insert Image' icon or by typing after it, ensuring that you do not have any spaces before or after the URL of the image. You can insert pictures from your albums (?) in this way too.
  19. Just saw one last year at our local supermarket. I got a commemorative Christmas card from the two hotties that were piloting it across the country.
  20. Probably has more holes than Swiss cheese. Too hard to photograph something with more holes than metal.
  21. The original text was in Portuguese and Google Translate provided the actual translation.
  22. Perhaps the S.A. market had different vehicles as they currently do?
