  1. Yes with digital cameras and many Gigabytes of inexpensive storage space there is no excuse to skimp on photos of anything.
  2. I agree with John. It looks like the one on my 25 tourer.
  3. Looking good Bill. Finally a question I can help with! The part in question mounts on the frame just forward of the casting protrusion for the stick shift (you will see the joggle in the middle fits around the casting). This is also the part where the floorboard transitions from flat to the (angled) toe board. This photos should help give you an idea where it bolts down (arrows).
  4. True enough. Not all of them use Fleabay...
  5. I recently picked up a pair of top irons (sockets) that are pretty close dimensionally to those of a mid-20's Dodge Brothers. However, this pair does not have the bar link going from the forward socket to the 2nd (I've sketched it in). Most touring cars of this period seem to have a similar link. Anyone have any idea what these are from?
  6. You could try Gene Sanson. DODGE 1914-32: sell, buy, trade, tons of parts available. Gene Sanson, 26 Sherman Pl, Clifton, NJ 07011, 973-478-8958 days.
  7. Technically, you are correct about moron. However, being a fan of Looney Tunes, I was using it in this mode: "A term of derision often uttered by Bugs Bunny when referring to an interaction with a dopey adversary. It is a mispronunciation of the word "Moron" Ha ha!!
  8. I believe someone here mentioned a few months back about being ripped off via an unsolicited e-mail from someone claiming to have the exact DB part they were after. I had posted a wanted ad in the AACA classifieds a while back and have received a few suspicious e-mails but I thought I'd share this one.. "Hello, I'm XXXXX from London UK, I have the items in stock and I will like to know if you are still ready to buy the item(s). Kindly email with your phone." My response: "Please send photos and list measurements A, B, etc. per the attached diagram. This way I can be sure they are 1925 DB." (I had attached a sketch I've used in this forum before). XXXXX responds back "Thanks for the mail, I do have the original item/parts (Top Irons & Bows for 1925 Dodge Touring Car ) in good shape and condition I'm asking a 1450GBP for the two and i will be shipping via UPS on 3 working days delivery. I accept payment via Western union or Money gram. What' your complete shipping address?.......See picture is been attach to the mail." The photos look like they might be from a pre-24 DB, but a restored car. I don't see too many folks parting out restored cars... hmmm. The sketch he sends is a copy of one posted by a DB forum member a few months ago who was kind enough to make these measurements for me. The fraudster couldn't be bothered to transcribe the numbers, he just attaches the same document... What a maroon... As they say, Caveat Emptor
  9. Cool. Let us know when and where.
  10. I seem to remember someone posted not too long ago looking for a running board bracket. There's a few on Fleabay... here's one: Dodge Brothers 1919-1923 rear running board bracket | eBay
  11. If this touring has the top up is there any chance you could take some photos and or measurements of the top irons and rests?
  12. I was surprised at the amount of automation putting the chassis together. Very good video.
  13. Yes that and a stricter accounting of a real need for a cart.
  14. I really hate to sound like a complainer but it seemed to me that the number of golf carts have escalated substantially since my last visit to Hershey ('08) and that more people will get hurt as a result. I had a couple close calls and although the can noise is annoying, at least you get a warning. I would welcome a return to the fields (and mud) simply to keep this a primarily pedestrian event. I understand some people need them for legitimate reasons but I think if this isn't better controlled it is going to significantly downgrade the flea market experience.
  15. The Mechanics Instruction Manual has some decent diagrams of the tranny. Meyers and Romar have them (reprints). They are also often seen on fleabay.
  16. The highest vacuum attainable in the tank (i.e. a perfect one) would only put a 14.7 psi pressure on the outside of the tank. So it really shouldn't take to much air pressure in the tank to pop it out. If you have a spare gas cap try drilling a hole to fit a tire valve stem and then use a compressor to put air in. I would not go above 20 psi or so or you may create leaks. Also, you will need to remove the fuel inlet from the vacuum tank and plug it or gas will be forced out there. Whatever you do be careful with the gas fumes.
  17. It's close but I'm not sure close enough. Overall it appears to be about 8 - 9 inches shorter than known 25's I've had measured. The body width is about right (I measure 56 on my car). I'm going to Hershey and will be looking closely at some 25 DB touring cars in person so I should have a better idea what can work when I get back. I am hoping to find a set of 25 top irons of course. I will keep an eye out for 31 Ford 4-door phaeton irons too.
  18. Could a bad condenser cause this?
  19. Thanks, I know what you mean 72caddy. If the measurements are close this would be an easy detail to change (Myers has them).
