  1. Probably 50's. Late 40's switches also incorporated a hydraulic valve at the end of the actuator Matt
  2. Wonderful! One could only wish to be so unattached to the worldly items we surround ourselves with.
  3. Sorry to not report back. I was able to fabricate another spring to work in the latch assembly. Matt
  4. Parts were shipped on Friday last week in the afternoon. Parts were delivered in Spain Wednesday afternoon. Pretty quick service! Very happy buyer! Has parts to move forward with his 46' Buick convertible build. Thanks for all of the comments Matt
  5. They still check the VIN to the title and if the VIN tag is not original or looks "fabricated", they will question and then could open a can of worms. They would then refer the car for a VIN check, upon which they would have to try and find the same number on top of the rear fram rail. Which, by the way, cannot be seen because it is between the car body and the frame. And would probably need to be scraped or wire brushed to be able to see the numbers. I love the car, just we were hoping to see the model number in the body tag to better identify the body style. Matt
  6. Guess we will never know as the tag on the firewall is not original. I don't even think PA would accept that as is "homemade" and not original.
  7. Most legitimate buyers will understand not wanting to have a 3-4% charge for accepting paypal. Especially on larger amounts, and from a foreign country. In my case, the reason for my initial post, was protecting both myself and the buyer with the correct form of payment for the parts and shipping cost. Parts have now been paid for and are at the shipping provider (choice of the buyer), being packaged for shipment. Buyer should have his parts in a week or so. Matt
  8. Good luck my friend! Rest well. Enjoy life! Friends are always here if you need.
  9. Nice looking car. I love convertibles. Good luck and wish you lots of enjoyment.
  10. Glad you are ok Willie. Good wishes to everyone Matt
  11. My collector car insurance allows me to drive when and where I want.
  12. Make sure that the ahoes are floating properly in their carrier. The caliiper has to be free. Could also be a brake caliper hose coming apart on the inside and locking the caliper. just a couple ideas off the top of my head
  13. Weis supermarkets will love the marketing......cleanup in aisle 3.
  14. First of all, thanks for posting your beautiful car here for sale. You may also want to list it in the Buick buy/sell section a little further down on the main site page. Many of the audience here on the forums enjoy seeing pictures of what you have for sale, along with as detailed of a description as can be provided. Asking price, as stated above, is recommended, but not absolutely necessary. Some were just asking. Roysboystoys actually copied the "rules" for posting in the buy/sell section of the site. Welcome and good luck finding a new home for your car. Matt
  15. Btw, you don't have to misrepresent anything to a buyer. All they have to do is later say they don't like it or didn't fit or I didn't ask my wife, etc. Your wares can be advertised perfectly well. If you sell $200.00 of much needed parts to someone and costs $150.00 to ship them. If they complain, you are out the original shipping AND the return shipping when dealing with evilbay. You now are $100.00 in the hole. This is precisely the reason for my question to see if paypal is the same way. Matt
  16. No, I am not a sheister like others. Keep your crappy comments to yourself if you don't know me. have a nice day
  17. This is what I was thinking. I have let the buyer know and am awaiting his response. thanks guys Matt
  18. Ok. So here is my question. I have sold some parts to a buyer overseas. Shipping is very costly and I have sold a considerable dollar amount of parts to them. I have been asked if I take Paypal for payment, which I do. Insurance will have to be paid on the shipment. I want to be sure that there is no way for this to turn around and bite me for freight, or refunds through Paypal. I have sold some things on evilbay and had the customer reject the parts and I had to pay return shipping, plus refund their money. Lose-lose situation. This particular transaction is NOT through evilbay. Anyone ran into problems with paypal wanting a credit back to a customer or anything of the sorts? We are not talking about small change and worries me. thanks Matt
  19. I drivw this whenever weather is fair. Still working on the windows after getting the top put on. Once that happens, will be out more and not have to worry about rain. Matt
  20. IMG_1262.MOV clip of the train pulling back into Creaco for the return trip.
  21. Took a lovely train ride today with my family from the Steamtown Historical Park in Scranton,Pa to Cresco,Pa. Today was my wifes birthday and was what she had wanted to do. The cars were pulled by two big diesel electric locomotives. Trip was 1.5 hours to and from the destination with an hour to burn at Cresco station. There was a small car show at the car station. A nice day trip that I would recommend to anyone close or that would want to make plans. Schedules are on the Steamtown website. They have a great museum there also. Matt
  22. Glad your dad was this way and PROUD to say that I work along the same lines! BTW, our region of the AACA has Tuesday night car clinics for all of our members. They can bring their car to be diagnosed, or we go to them if the vehicle is non-op or unsafe. We have even trailered a couple cars to our clubhouse where we have a lift and tools for working on cars. Once problems are diagnosed, the member is responsible for purchasing the needed parts and then we show them how to correctly install/adjust the parts. All a FREE service to our members.
