  1. There's a pic of one at the White House that I have but no 33's were used by presidents. Wilson's limo was a 1919 and still exists.
  2. not so much the cost of aluminum but the cost of working it, Pierce always had the finest craftsmen.
  3. The earlier low deck 276 and 291 engines aren't worth as much because there's not much in the way of aftermarket intakes available. There's a 4x2 and log manifolds but they're expensive especially once you start buying carbs.
  4. I haven't gotten around to joining yet but was looking at the classifieds on the site and would like to contact Dennis Wielt, there's an email address but it's an ad from 07 so I'm wondering if it's still good. If a member could confirm for me that would be great. Please pm me. Thanks
  5. I have lots of extra mechanical and body parts if someone buys it. Good luck with the sale!
  6. Don't know why you'd pay 10 to 15k on a truck that looks to worth about 5 to 7, check your market first. You can always go up with your offer but coming down is harder.
  7. Egads! That's horrible, painted bumpers too, super quality interior with custom wires hanging under the dash. Looks like Joe Dirt built that one.
  8. you must have an understanding wife Keiser. Willys41, you should reconsider the street rod idea, plenty of them around already and the value would be higher in the long run kept stock, maybe with a more reasonable paint scheme. Do you have a starting price?
  9. That car was on Ebay several years ago, extremely well built for the period, can't remember all the details. Very reminiscent of a Robert Crumb cartoon.
  10. Paypal someone on here to buy it for you and send it to you, if you don't know anyone I'll do it. PM me for contact info.
  11. Years ago I was in the underground storage tank business and I told the guy that pumped tanks out for me to look for old pumps and call me if he found any. He called and said to get to this farm, that the owner was removing the tank and had tons of old stuff. Didn't expect much but ended up buying, 49 Lincoln Cosmo, 65k original, 65 and 64 Honda Dreams, 1500 and 2000 original, Chev trucks, 29, 35, 48, 54 and tons of farm stuff, wagons, sprayers, Cat 10 crawler etc. Turned out the guy had a 300 acre prune orchard in Newberg OR, was never married and never sold anything, it was his bro in law selling stuff for his estate. I missed a bunch of other stuff too but after about 10 trips with my truck and trailer I was getting tired.
  12. I think it was probably GM that decided it was a Pontiac, even if by badge or small differences only. Now a couple of savvy members want you to admit it's not a Pontiac, they know more than GM and they seem to think their opinion carries more weight that the car's manufacturer. If the car's owner and the manufacturer want to call it a Pontiac then let them, geez!
  13. FYI, I sold that car a couple years ago to a guy in Cali. I didn't own it long but if you have any questions let me know.
  14. I need a pair of 41 Zephyr skirts for my coupe. Also a question for you Zephyr guys, will 40's fit as well, looks like it, what about 39's? Thanks
  15. No worries Vince, I told you they were yours and I have no intention of selling to anyone else. They just got put on the back burner. Send me a pm if you have questions.
  16. Probably worth more to the hot rod guys but sell it to me instead, I'd keep it stock. Seriously though, I don' know what it's worth but would love to own it. If you come up with a price I'd appreciate a shot at it. Thanks, Neil
  17. Nice looking car, too much rake on the windshield though IMHO, makes it look a little cartoonish. Straighten it up about half to vertical and adjust the top, would look better and not quite so disproportionate.
  18. Joe, I bought it before I posted it here. Not for sale but might consider a trade for an earlier large open car.
