  1. New addition to the shop, needs a bit of work but will be steaming soon
  2. Stanleys have gotten some pretty fast times previously, you guys should do great, good luck.
  3. Thanks Terry for posting those pictures, I do think I remember seeing it many years ago and being impressed. I hope it gets sold to someone who will run it.
  4. I'd go to Florida and apprentice under Ed in that deal.
  5. What a great steam car, thanks for posting
  6. Carl Amsley built the first two VCR cars. He was contracted to do it by Buderman who then copied his and sold the one Amsley built to Mr. Leno. Attached is a picture of Amsley and the first recreation
  7. CChinn,I was thinking of the stress he must have been under from father and the business, stress always hit me in the stomach. I like pre war Lincoln's I think they are among the best cars Made in America.
  8. There is an excellent book about Edsel and some of his trials and tribulations. I've often wondered if his early death was from frustrations.
  9. Despite the fact I don't much like Cadillac's, I do like this car, but not the price.
  10. That 32 Chevrolet Roadster is very attractive, even more interesting with the in-line V-6, must be an expermintal.
  11. Yes I may be, where are you located, engine loose or tight, price ? I would like to see some pictures. I'm located in south central Pennsylvania. I have the remains of a bus body built by Hoover Wagon Co. that was on a Speedwagon chassis. thanks, John Kelso Firststeaman@gmail.com
  12. Stanley steam car throttle, original will need rebuilding $200 plus shipping. Other parts available
  13. I have several C4 spark plugs some NOS as pictured some slightly used. These are also used on some Lincoln's, I am not a spark plug collector so am open to an offer.
  14. I am in need of an amp meter for my 1917 Pierce 38. Part or lead greatly appreciated, thanks
  15. In my humble opinion it is mostly when you have to rely on someone else or pay a shop. I think Ed posted removing the blocks honing the cylinders and installing new rings. I'd probably add do a valve job. I've done this with a couple L Lincolns with good results. I am fortunate to have had my equipment for many years. These Lincoln's are great cars, go for it.
  16. You sure about that? I thought when Henry put his name on the radiator badge and Edsel supervised all the body designs it was no longer Leland, except for the fork and blade engine.
  17. Agree with Old Tom, being a Lincoln lover I think overall it is a very nice looking car, I hunted for years for a roadster project like this one. Its a shame better choices weren't made during restoration.
  18. Reading Ed's response of Jan 4 is one of the best I've seen on this forum. I have always suffered from caring more about the cars and there preservation then the money. There was always a job in my shop for young people and teaching them "the reward of a job well done was to have done it" Yes, every talent deserves respect.
  19. Isn't anyone going to mention an over abundance of hot air in a confined space?😉
