1927 Meteor Hearse. $10,000
John Kelso replied to John Bloom's topic in "Not Mine" Automobiles For Sale
I was raised in a small town funeral home. When mom and dad went away you'd be amazed at how much fun you can have in a hearse. Of coarse that was a more lenient time. -

You should be able to find modern hinges without holes that size, then grind the ends to match your originals. Try McMaster Carr

Norman Becker Hanover Pa. 1910 Overland 42 touring, any history?
John Kelso replied to trimacar's topic in General Discussion
My Father was working on a 1906 Buick around 1960, it had the wrong engine. Norm(Mr. Becker to me) had a spare engine missing a few parts and we got it. Such a nice man, he even had time to talk with a kid. A much different time in our hobby. -
Should you glue wood body frame together on old cars?
John Kelso replied to viv w's topic in Technical
I am presently doing wood replacement on a 1936 Lincoln LeBaron Convertible Coupe and have found glue only on finger joints. On the Stanley bodies I have built they are all glued and screwed. -

Running great and looking good. Stanley Steamer
John Kelso replied to John Kelso's topic in General Discussion
A few years ago we were on the Bristol NASCAR track at a higher speed in a 1908 Stanley. They are very fast for a short period, this is an H, the other car is K, bigger boiler more steam generated and in reserve. -
Need to repaint that pesky left front fender, still not bad for a 35 year old restoration, afraid to run it over 75 MPH yet but its begging for more.

Like Yachtflame I have a shop full of equipment and no one interested. Were a young person truly interested in learning and had the temperament I'd probably give them my shop. There was a time when we bought work just to have summer jobs for kids. Its been 10 years since one came looking for a job .

Terry ,I knew the fellow who restored that car and had ridden in it a few times, Al Martin. A good guy, he did a great job and it was a fine Stanley. Died way to young and his family donated it to the museum in Estes Park.
