  1. I wonder how it found it's way to Hinton ? A long way from Wisconson. Interesting , but I don't need another truck. Not even all that far away from me. You could use plexi for the corner windows.
  2. That looks like a great building! I would invest in a 20 x 20 or so concrete slab in one of the corners. As time permits put up some light framing to partition off that space so it can be isolated from rodents etc. As a further step insulate and heat. Other than the concrete it does not have to cost a lot . And the improvements will pay off in spades as you progress on your projects.
  3. Pretty sure they are , circa 1918 Cadillac. Electric . The detail pressed into the top of the ring is what Cadillac used in the late teens. General shape of the bodies as well. I can't remember what it had before , and I don't think I took a photo of it at the sale. May have been more correct , commercial vehicle style acetylene steel body lights when I last saw it. But that was something like 30 years ago. The memory dims a bit as the decades add up.
  4. I have a feeling this one came from the B.C. Transportation Museum sale back in the 1990's. Sold for quite a strong price back then. I am not sure where it came from before being part of the Museum's collection. { put together as part of British Columbia's worlds fair, Expo 86 } Bellingham is just a stones throw away from where the Museum was located, just on the Washington State side of the border rather than in Canada. I often wondered what happened to it as it seemed to drop out of sight locally after the sale. I don't think it had the Cadillac headlights on it in the 1990's.
  5. I believe King Seeley units use capilliary action and a special fluid. So not just a basic electric resistance sender. Anyone that can tell us for sure please speak up.
  6. Funny , I was thinking DB truck myself. Small , around a 1 ton that still used wood spoke wheels.
  7. They look like they could be front fender brackets for an early truck. The front bracket usually has substantial angle to reach from the frame to the front of the fender. But the mid position bracket is sometimes almost straight out from the frame like this one. Mid teens to mid twenties ?
  8. Pickup chassis is the same as a Model T car. Only the lager model, TT truck { one ton } has the worm gear diff. They all use the planetary trans.
  9. Unbelivable how cheap some of those trailers sold for. Those $400.00 sales would be $3500.00 + all day long around here. { and sold in the first hour they were offered } Mind you many seem to be 2500 - 3500 miles away and probably not capable of making the trip home even empty. Been looking for about 4 years now, the cheapest I have ever seen was a rough to start with and seriously crash damaged one for just under $3000.00. Sold within an hour of going up on CL. Specifically looking for a 16 Ft. enclosed for my Lola race car. In decent condition they are all $12,000 - $20,000. { even 10 years or more old.
  10. I find restorations to be endlessly frustrating / hugely rewarding. But it sure would be nice to also have the money and space for a decent condition , drivable car as well. Hope springs eternal.
  11. Even for a well used enclosed trailer that sounds cheap. They are a lot more than that up here. Last cheap one I looked at near me was $7500.00 and it sold almost at once. And a rather rough old thing at that. Reasonably new, decent condition ones are usually at or close to the 20 G mark.
  12. Hard to go wrong with Fel-pro. Not sure if you can buy the fill cap gasket . I usually just make new ones with thick gasket paper and a gasket circle cutter. PCV valve seal might have to come from Ford or a Mustang parts seller. You would have to check at a parts store and see if it available from one of the gasket suppliers. Molded rubber part. GT coupes are great cars ! I would own one if they weren't so darned expensive these days.
  13. Star, hub cap value these days ? Probably all of $10.00 - $20.00. I may be way off, but I don't think so. The vast majority of these 1920's ,small car hubcaps rarely seem to go for very much.
  14. I have a 27 T touring front 1/2 { an old timey , Gow Job favorite. } windshield, decent rad and shell. Sitting on a so- so 1925 or so frame { good front and rear cross members} for sale right now. Asking $450.00 { Canadian } , pocket change in USD. Been for sale locally for 3 weeks , { no one in their right mind would ship this }, and a total of 0 interest. Last year it would have been gone at once. This year with inflation what it is , everyone is holding their wallets very tightly. In this part of the world at least.
  15. What's it worth ? Not very much unfortunately. Pretty low demand for lower end cars like a Star. Even a complete , unrestored Star wouldn't be of all that much value. A frame and a few parts , $50.00 - $75.00 on a good day.
  16. Most basic model in the Durant line up. Very much a Plymouth / Ford / Chevy competitor.
  17. Seems cheap to me. Complicated , expensive cars to restore . In the UK at least they command some pretty healthy prices. The generaly low market value in North America leads to quite a few cars of this general type , early Sunbeam Alpines, Riley dropheads , roadsters and these Triumphs being sold back to England where they have a much stronger following.
  18. Belzona is indeed the gold standard. In my previous life I was involved in overhauls of large Marine Diesels. Where the cylinder liner O rings seal against the cylinder block, the block becomes corroded over the decades and even new O rings won't seal. The Co. I worked for had many engines that were 30 - 50 years old, at 3 - 5 Million $ each { even more these days } you want to get your moneys worth out of them. Big enough engines that you just sit on the crankpin inside the engine to work on this area of the block. Corrosion is wire wheeled down to base metal. And we always used Belzona to repair the area. A very sucessfull method. In truly extreme cases we would have to bore out the area and fit a shrunk in sleeve, but as you can imagine this was a major undertaking and reserved for only the worst cases.

  20. A complete, reasonably rust free coupe for $1200.00 ? That has to be a decent deal. Says rust in floor, but don't they all have that ?
  21. Thanks for the information. I suspected Buffalo but was not sure. There was one for sale near me with disk wheels several years ago. Pretty rough , along the same lines as the WW roadster in your first photo. Although I must say, as rough as it appears If it that Roadster was close to me I might have been interested. Pretty rare and desirable Buick. I don't know what happened to the disk wheel touring near me. A model 55 McLaughlin I believe. I presume it sold, and it seems to have dropped out of sight.
  22. Hi Larry, do you happen to know which brand of optional wire wheels the sport versions of these cars used ? They don't look to be the Ash wheels the slightly later Buicks used. I know several brands were available as an aftermarket addition. But curious as to what Buick would have fitted at the factory.
  23. It's just down the road from me , about 10 miles due South. And I really like trucks of this era. But 5 miles South of me is the Canada / U.S, border and this truck is on the wrong side. I doubt a clear bill of sale will pass muster for U.S. Customs export documention requirements. They always want a Title. Tankers look very cool, but pretty useless to own. A flat deck is always handy, but unless you are thinking of stocking upon cheap gas what are you going to use a tanker for ?
