  1. I just got some samples in the mail from Formica company , don't laugh ! They have new line called DECOMETAL that is really sharp and is exactly the same .040 inch thickness as the walnut veneer . Thinking hard about maybe using that in place of the walnut for a mild custom look ! Hey Mr Scanlan want to cut some of this stuff on your laser ?????? ?? Thanks Schmiddy for the right up on the door panels !! I am starting completely from scratch on mine so all your info really has helped !
  2. I just have a bad feeling about driving my 65 with those low slung tail lights being the only thing between my car and all the texting , attention deficit , people driving around these days !!! Has anyone mounted a 3rd brake light in the rear window either low or high with any success ?? Any pictures that might be floating around the web that you know of ? I have searched but nothing really specific to the first gen Riviera .
  3. Does anyone have any idea as to who owns this car or what was used to create the silver inlay rather than the wood veneer on the door panel ? It's a really nice look without going too crazy custom I think !!!
  4. I actually sent my original 65 column to Ididit a few years back and they used it to make a direct replacement ,,, the new column fits like a glove , although it lacks the chrome lower shielding the original had ... I would think they would have taken measurements for their inventory of columns ,,, maybe ????
  5. I grabbed the first set of 65 rear bezels CARS put out a number of years ago ,,, still look great !!!
  6. This isn’t cheap , or easy , but I am purchasing all new side glass from Sanders Glass in Vancouver Washington ,,, they have quite the selection of options !

  9. Well thanks for the insight on that everyone !!! I will make sure that gets back to where it belongs !!!
  10. I used the same Frost King foil and foam as seen in the above picture on my inner roof ,,, used spray adhesive also , on a nice warm day ,and that stuff is there to stay !!!! Easy to work with too!
  11. Can anyone identify this beautiful piece of engineering ?? Thinking about hanging it on the Christmas tree and seeing if my wife notices .... Thanks!
  12. Are there different configurations of that bracket from 63 to 64 to 65 ? I have one from my 65 .....
  13. Look in Minneapolis Mn Clist auto parts ... 64 dual quad just listed yesterday
  14. Thank you so much for the reply and information !!!! Much appreciated !
  15. How are the carpeted kick panels secured to the sides of the footwell ? 1 screw through the bottom hole of metal vent and the leading edge tucked into metal windlace fold ?? I may start asking dumber questions as the winter goes on , been 7 years since disassembly ... ( I did take pictures , but not this detail ) Thanks
  16. Thank you for confirming that info ! Much appreciated !
  17. My son showed me how to "screen shot " pictures ...... these kids know their way around this technology ... so I was able to save these great pictures of the armrest for future use as I get mine put back together !!! Thanks again for posting them !!!!!!
  18. What is the taper angle on the lug nuts for the 65 Buick Rally ...60 degree ??? The studs are 1/2 x 20 thread ? Thanks !
  19. Is there any way the pictures from the eBay add could be reposted here on this forum so we can have them for posterity ? I think the pictures disappear shortly after an item is sold on eBay ,,,,,, GREAT PICTURES !!! Is the upholstery from Clarks on that armrest ?? thanks guys !!!!!
  20. Thank you for the information TheRev ! Sometimes just seeing a new idea is all it takes to work hard for all the answers ,and find the pieces and parts to put it together . There are literally pages of trim rings to browse through on the inter web , just have to order up a set ,or 4 , to get it right !!! As we all know , if you're in a hurry to build a Riviera , you've got the wrong hobby !!! When I get it figured out I will let whoever is following this know !!!!!
  21. I just did a little measuring on the wheels I have , looks like a 3 inch deep trim ring will cover 99 percent of the outer rim . 90 bucks or so will buy 4 new stainless trim rings in that dimension . Would like to hear more on the Oldsmobile option though !
