  1. Hi everybody..... How far and few between are these Buick parts for 63 to 65 Rivs...Radio Delete Plates ????? If anyone has any info on the production # s of this oddity ...or a part that matches this description I would be interested to hear from you.....I would like to purchase a radio delete plate if anybody has one .....And how rare are the clock delete pieces??? I love this forum and all the great people here !!!.....Just got a foot of snow today....3 to 4 foot snow banks along the driveway.....My little girl came in after playing outside today...{No School}.... and said " summer got a lot farther away today didnt it?"....I just smiled and said ..You live in Minnesota........;););)
  2. Where are you at in The Land Of Lincoln ....? I used to be in Naperville / Aurora till I couldn't stand the traffic anymore.
  3. LED 3rd Brake Lights Ron Francis Rear Window 3rd Brake Lights Its on my list of wiring ...the tail lights on the 65 are REALLY low on a lowered car....I like the Ron Francis pieces, I haven't bought anything yet but there are lots of options.....

    fuel injection

I would really like to see this on a nailhead http://www.msdatomic.com/....will supports up to 520 horse.
  5. Ah the ages old addage ...what came first , the chicken , or the egg.... On a serious note....I had 4 guys with lots of body shop kinda experience pushin the fenders this way , then that way , then shimmin this and shimmin that, blew my mind how hard it was to figure this 65 Riv tin out... I think those guys on the assembly line had it easier too because they had brand new unfatigued sheetmetal to work with ...we get to try the same thing after almost 50 yeasr of it rattling around and gravity pullin on it. I marked every shim pack ...drilled marker holes through the door hinges for reassembly and still had one heck of a time gettin to what I finally said was GOOD ENOUGH....those 4 guys didnt work for nothin...I agree its a challenge......(But nothin like changing the fuel filter on my wifes 03 Expedition this morning out in the driveway when the thermometer was screaming 14 below...I still cant feel my one thumb)
  6. Its really time to ditch this antique motor assembly.... ALL of us should figure the linear actuator angle out as a retrofit for the 65's that need a new motor or dont even have one....I want to find a 3D scanner and at least get the exact dimensions of the pivot point heights and locations related to the mounting locations of the original motor on the front core support . With that, fabbing up a rotating arm like whats on the original motor and having an actuator make it move cant be that hard...We have all seen the youtube video of the white 65 with the actuator...I have tried and tried and tried to get the gentlman to contact me about his setup but to no avail....too bad!!! I have read so many posts here from some seriously intellegent ,engineering kinda minded folks ... who wants to work on this ?????????
  7. What Air system is on the car....I might be interested in some of the componenets .....post a pic of your car if you can ..what is it you dislike about the system?

  14. I look far and wide for those parts ....There still are lots of these cars that are being dragged from long slumbers in small town America...You just have to be first one to the punch !!!!!! I still have lots of super nice stuff ... I sell it as I need some extra mad money ... the first Riv I bought I parted out for twice what I payed for it. I hate to be a jag on this forum but nobody EVER gave me anything and I can't , , , Can NOT ... stand whiney ,no it all people that think they are owed something by a huge populous of complete strangers. I look forward to the 700 horse 401 nailhead that our newfound leader is having built by a bunch of teenagers... Move over Mr Telesco ...Move over Mr Martin...............Give me a FNN break !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Alini , 350.00 shipped , or are you buying fuzzy floormats for the camaro
  15. No ... you misunderstand me ... I am willing to take the headlight motor OFF my car to sell TO YOU ...and only YOU , it has never been for sale before ...but to show my compasion for a whiner.... I thought I would offer it up ...I am pretty sure its the last one in the UNIVERSE.....and when you need that next hard to find 65 Riv part .... trust me I will be there to help you out of your DIRE predicament.....So 350.00 it is and I will gladly go unbolt it tonight ... I ship UPS insured...HEY ROB ...HOW ARE THE QUALITY OF MY PARTS.....................................................................................I wish there was a filter for real car people on these forums
  16. Hey man there aint no secret fnn handshake to be a part of this forum , just a bunch of very enthusiastic, generous , like minded folks from all over the world who like old cars. If you need a part , get in line , get out your wallet and pony up , or shut up. This isn't Disney World....restoring this old iron isn't cheap or easy ....especially a 1st gen Riv...probably one of the most expensive 60's cars to restore!!!! Nobody is HOARDING a specific part to make your life miserable ....its called making a buck and man I am all for that...I have an old headlight motor I will sell you....only have one ...not hoarding.... just to make you happy.....350.00 shipped to your door...and there is something called respect for the REAL RIVIERA EXPERTS who have tried to help you....I am not one of them but I respect all they HAVE done for me and my restoration over the YEARS....THANKS GUYS .... YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE... P>S> ALINI SEARCH C LIST endlessly like alot of us have for that JUST listed old riviera part..............it happens all the time ...all you have to do is spend 10 hours a week doing it ......or go PLEDGE the wood on your PT
  17. Been saving some money so I can continue...A big master bath remodel has sidelined me for a while. We got 15 inches of snow yesterday so its lockdown in the garage for the duration of the winter...bummer
  18. Stainless Steel ....A good buffing should bring all the interior pieces back to beautiful shape ... no re -chrome should be needed on that stuff...Pot Metal ....oh boy ...thats the chrome shops tax bill payer...either step up or step out of the way....
  19. Pat may be able to help you out ...he owns and operates ..... www.trishieldperformance.com
  20. Yeah that THICK OIL will never leak out unless your housing is warped ... there is alot of that warped housing going AROUND LATELY THOUGH SO....
  21. Just saw the # 56 iSSUE ...NICE CAR... only wish there were more detailed pictures of the interior and trunk....whay happened to the door handles,,,, super slick though....also an incredible black 32 ford roadster in that issue.
  22. There are alot of us "watching the show"
  23. Never seen a Nailhead before and your going to let them rebuild it to some NASCAR specs ....LOL.... and your gonna race Rob to the finish line on the resto.... sorry man ... it aint easy ....but you have to be real.....dont paint your frame unless you get it blasted cause regardless of how much hot water and chemicals you pour on it you will never get any paint to stick for the long run.....I did my first frame up / off when I was 18 in the early 80 's and have done 5 since and have learned that you can't cut corners, it always shows up in 6 months and you will hate yourself... My 12 year old basically took my 65 Riv apart ...THATS THE EASY PART....he is a tool handling prodigy if I do say so myself ...but it has taken at least 15 super talented NON 12 year old individuals in there own respective line of expertise to HELP me put the car back together...THESE CARS ARE LAYERS UPON LAYERS WHEN IT COMES TIME TO REASSEMBLE...i guess what Iam getting at is if your in a rush on a Riv and dont listen to the old experts on this forum or other nailhead forums you will be up for a big letdown...and if you wanna go REAL fast put a Kenne Bell on your Camaro .....the Riv is meant to be seen not heard.....
  24. If its in RJ its probably an 11 on the 1 to 10 scale. Can you imagine how expensive it is to feature 1 car with 16 pages of the finest color and paper in the magazine business ? I will be out tomorrow to the local Barnes and Noble to track down # 56. I just hope its a car I have never seen before !!!! These ARE exciting pieces of rolling art .
