my65riv
i've noticed that buick does not have a web spot for buick plastic/diecast.ROA does and i was justed intrested in seeing the small buicks.i've been collecting for only five years and there has to be some really neat collections out there.i use my collection as "therapy" to see a car show during the cold months.i've only got a little over 30 in the buick category. let's see what you got. TG57Roadmaster
Okay 65Riv,Let's test your "mettle"...Name the Buicks and what company made 'em, from, "Ride the Reindeer Lines," one of a series of six Christmas cards I produced back in the '90's. This image appeared on the covers of the BCA "Bugle" back in December, 2000. The series grew out of a desire to get the models out of their display case, and into the world's "collective" psyche; using 1/43rd scale cars was logisitcally a whole lot simpler than trying to herd a bunch of real autos, their owners and weather conditions!TG

Matt Harwood
I have only one, but it's very special to me. Somehow, my wife and mother found the maker of these miniatures and convinced him to paint a model in the colors I planned to paint my '41 Century. I have seen other models, in particular a late-40s woodie, that were absolutely spectacular. But when you're on a budget, $200 will buy a lot of stuff for the real car rather than a spiffy model.Nice models all around, guys.
Guest imported_Thriller
I don't really have photos, seeing as they are unbuilt in the box, but I have a '66 Riv (AMT) and '66 Wildcat (AMT Cusotmizing Series). My 9 year old has a Riviera about 1/18 scale.

Guest imported_Thriller
I guess, since I mentioned it, here it is. It would be nice to find a nice Cordovan one in decent shape. They are out there, but pricey. Oh well. It shares shelving with an unbuilt AMT '66 Riviera and an also unbuilt AMT Customizing Series '66 Wildcat. Dandy Dave
I have often seen toys bring more $$$ than the real thing that they represent! If it is rare and can sit on a shelf and collect dust, it is mostlikly valuable to someone. Dave! Centurion
Great topic, guys. I've been collecting small scale Buicks for a number of years, but I'll share a couple here that hold special significance. Some of you are aware that I own a silver '59 Buick Electra 4-door hardtop. Here's the actual car: Recently, I've obtained a large, 1/12-scale resin cast kit of the '59 Buick 4-door hardtop. These kits, which were made in small quantities by the late S.C. Miller back in the 1990's, were produced from a mold taken off an original General Motors Styling model that was exhibited at the Buick display during the 1959 GM Motorama and the Chicago Auto Show. (Norb previously owned one of the original models.) Working with an expert model builder who is an active 1959 Buick enthusiast, a silver '59 Buick Electra 4-door hardtop model was created. The car is nearly nineteen inches in length, and replicates my '59 Buick very nicely. These are not completely faithful scale models, but the end result is unmistakably a '59 Buick. The large 1/12-scale model joins a vintage Japanese tin toy '59 Buick, which I located in a nearby antique store at the time I obtained my '59 Buick. The tin toy is approximately 1/16-scale, measuring about 14 inches in length. I was amazed to find one finished in silver, and have never seen another of these large '59 4-door toys:
