FRENCHCLAR
Hi- I would appreciate information on a machine shop in the U.S. that would replace the babbitt bearings and do other necessary machining of a 1929 Continental straight 8. Thanks Frenchclar

Stude Light
What part of the US are you in? That would help direct you somewhere closer to your location.
Akstraw
I think there are a few that advertise in Hemmings.

BlueDevil
Hart's without a doubt. They are fairly priced and fast (both of those are relative words for our hobby.)

BlueDevil
Here is a before and after on a Hart's Pierce rod. They also did my Packard 12
Stude Light
My local machine shop did not want to tackle my 1921 Olds V8. Hart’s was happy to take it on with it’s crazy split block, two main bearing design and fork and blade rods.
Dandy Dave
Yup. Harts have done excellent work for many in the hobby. The Babbitt in the 1930 Rolls Royce engine I rebuilt was done by them. Also numerous others I know have had work done there.
Larry Schramm
Hart's has done three engines for me. They do great work and are fairly priced.
David Zitzmann
Harts just did my 1932 LaSalle. Agree with previous posts. Dave Z

Larry Schramm
I have said before, Harts are the best in the midwest for engine work.
Stude Light
19 hours ago, VW4X4 said: What a crazy engine design. The engine was designed by Northway Motors in Detroit. Ralph Northway worked as chief engineer for the Dodge Brothers in 1902, then with the help of Henry Ford, started his own business in 1903 which became Northway Motors, subsequently bought by Billy Durant in 1909 and brought into GM. He designed the first volume production V8s for Cadillac, Cole, Oldsmobile and Oakland Car companies. It runs surprisingly well.
