Well I thought it might be a savable car at a better price until I saw the dreaded words-No title.  That friends is the end of that.

Yup, you might have to put up a bond to get a title on this car depending on your DMV. If it were a two door, it might be worth it. Too much "patina" for me.

The title issue definitely hurts but you don't see many 1957 Dodges anymore and this is an upscale Custom Royal. It looks complete, untouched and well equipped with PS, PB, dual exhaust (with tips) and the correct spinner hubcaps. One BIG plus is it doesn't appear to have any rust issues. I don't know about the $7450 price but it says obo. The seller states it will run with some minor tinkering. There are definitely some vintage Swept-Wing fans out there (I know one personally) and I wouldn't be surprised if someone negotiated a deal on this one and bought it for parts or possibly a restoration attempt despite the title problem. Just sayin'.

IMO this is a very handsome car when finished. I like the interior and the two tone paint colors. The title might not be as big a problem as it seems on face value. If you have the previous owners name and a bill of sale in a family owners name, it might be OK. DMV will run the plate to see if it shows up on any stolen vehicle records. This could be a killer car when done.

Very original and complete 1957 Dodge Custom Royal 4 door sedan. If you’re a Forward Look Car enthusiast, this one may be worth considering.

  • Runs good and drives but needs brake work and a other minor repairs to be road worthy.
  • Appears to have original paint that is quite decent with some thin (patina) on the top of the hood, fenders and trunk lid. Very little rust solid body.
  • Minor dent in passenger front fender.
  • 325 V-8 with push button automatic transmission and dual exhaust (one exh. manifold needs replaced).

Has been sitting for many years. Selling for my elderly Father. Time to thin his herd of classic cars. Only asking $6,750 due to NO TITLE. It was in Dad’s name but DMV says a duplicate title isn’t an option since the car was not registered within last 7 years and the car’s records were purged. BILL OF SALE ONLY.

I love it when it says NO TITLE.     The car can usually be bought  half itsl value  and there isn't a dozen buyers knocking on the sellers door.

I can guarantee you that it's going to go from minor tinkering to major expense once the wheels start turning.

It's a shame. There are a lot of good parts here but is there really that much demand for them.
