Air Cleaner Came in a Box of Parts with my 1928 Chrysler Model 72 Roadster

Can anyone tell me what this is from?  Also the small tube, why is it there?

might it be an oil breather cap?  Can't tell size

The tube looks like a road draft tube for crankcase ventilation, but I've never seen one attached to a breather cap. Doesn't look like that would scavenge a crankcase very efficiently.

 

How big diameter is the opening? Carburetor throat size or oil fill tube size?

That looks like a 29 or 30 Chevrolet air filter. The tube goes from the oil filler/breather tube to the air filter. The 29 and 30 were slightly different.
