Stromberg U4 carburetor

Doing a quick thumb through of my 1925-1930 RADCO Carburetor and Motor Tune Up Manual, I do not find a listing for any car that would have had a Stromberg U4 (including PA). The biggest I came across was a U3. The 4 would indicate the size of the passage at the throttle butterfly. Wonder if this is for a truck, my books don't cover trucks, just cars.

I am just posting what I found and will bow to more learned minds.

Ed - Branham lists the 1930 model C beginning production in January 1930, and the 1931 model beginning production in September 1930.

Mark - The Radco manual you mention is an excellent reference for what they list, but not comprehensive.

In addition to the production U-4 for the P-A, Stromberg made some experimental models for Auburn and a few trucks that did not see production.

The production U-4 is Stromberg A-13774, P-A 734437

Hi

Thanks for your helpful comments, does anyone know what other makes and models the U4 may suit. It appears from my research that that the U 3 and U4 are similar as the they take the same kit.

I have two U 2 carburetors, which I would like to sell.

John

The U-3 and U-4 are similar but two different sizes.

Are those U-2 potmetal or cast iron ?
