Guest
That's a bargain. Would make a good grocery getter.
John_S_in_Penna
It's interesting how human nature keeps prices low on these. Because of their funereal associations, the demand is low. But, if people's thinking was different, one could just as easily see these as premium station wagons or elegant sedan deliveries. Hudsy Wudsy
I had a '84 Fleetwood Brougham. That doesn't make me an expert on these, though. The thing that I'm puzzling about is where are the "Fleetwood" badges and hubcaps?
NailheadBob
Definitely would get a lot of lookers at a car show or drive night
Leif in Calif
I used to live in a small town where the mortician was part time and lived above the funeral home. There was a big garage in back a mechanic rented it for a shop. He used to chase parts in the hearse.

Or--perhaps painted in a brighter color--a store's grocery delivery van; or a good Door Dash vehicle; or a furniture store delivery vehicle. An entire industry could be made with such a body style, no longer called hearses, used for many, many things!
classiclines
Is it just the photographic image? It doesn't look like the side windows would retract all the way into the doors?

TAKerry
Sorry, I am in the camp that these things freak me out. Always thought they would be a good used car to buy, figure probably have low mileage and seriously doubt they were ever ran that hard. But not for me!!! suchan
Definitely a great deal, and some good ideas for repurposing. Hearses give me the creeps, too. How about raising the roof a couple more feet and making an RV out of it? Traveling in style!
Hudsy Wudsy
They would be a hard sell for my neighbors and wife, as well.

Neville76
Just happened to come across this as I was browsing the Internet. I'm the one who bought this car! I named her Morticia. She needed a new water pump and I did a full tune up (plugs, wires, rotor, cap). Also rebuilt the carb. This is now my daily driver. I absolutely love it. Just thought I would comment on the post about my car!

John_S_in_Penna
Yes, Neville, welcome to the forum! Did you know that there is a Professional Car Society? They are collectors of hearses, limousines, flower cars, ambulances, etc. They would be happy to have you as a member, and you may enjoy reading about other people and their cars in their club magazine. You should enjoy your new old car. Edited July 28, 2022 by John_S_in_Penna (see edit history)
