Looks like CCCA now accepts all Cadillacs through 47, wonder if that will drive prices up or not?

Nice looking car either way, but seems to be all the money...

There was this two-tone green one that sold last Fall at the Worldwide Dallas auction for $60,500 all-in. +THAT+ was all the money+.

Thanks for the good research, Cadillac man.

Evidently this very car sold for $31,900 at

RM-Sotheby's 2021 Hershey auction.

When all those car fans assembled at the auction

bid UP TO $31,900--and others bid less--that

pretty clearly says the car may not be worth $38,500.

I believe that a well publicized auction is retail.  But there is a cottage industry of dealers who purchase cars at well known auctions and seem to turn a profit.  ( though some of their cars sit for years and years).

It surprises me, as I would think most people in the hobby are aware of the major car auctions and would just bid the car past the dealer.  As opposed to paying the dealers profit at a later date.

I am not anti-dealer, I just don’t understand paying more for something that was publicly available in the last month or year.

My thoughts:  There really is no "wholesale" or "retail"

in the old-car hobby.  There is no manufacturer producing

antique cars and putting them out through wholesalers

or distributors, eventually getting them to caring owners.

Instead, anyone--an individual or a dealer--has access to

the whole market.

There are grossly overpriced cars, and some relative bargains,

but these are not retail and wholesale.  We can all participate!
