1937 Cadillac Cadillac Sixty Special · Sedan · Driven 9,999 miles For restoration 1937 Cadillac Sixty Special. Stored in sealed storage for the last 45 years, primer applied to surface rust areas when it was stored. Rolls in neutral, did not attempt to start due to length of time sitting in storage. Engine and transmission were working when it was stored. This car is complete with all trim including well sought after original Goddess hood mascot ornament. Some surface rust. Frame is solid. Floor pans good condition. Antennas complete under running board. Best offer. The vehicle is stored in North Port, Florida.

When it went into "sealed storage", they dumped 15 or 20 gallons of salt water in with it, to get it's current patina. Parts car? Is it worth the $4000 in parts?

I think 1938 was the first year of the 60 Special.

This is just a 60, basically the same car as a LaSalle with the slightly bigger Cadillac motor (and 10 more HP).

It's pretty rough. The glass looks it delaminated, or is it just dirt? The engine must be rock solid frozen. The body style is incredible though.

This doesn’t look like a Sixty Special.   The first year for the Sixty Special was 1938 not 1937.   Here is an example of a 1938 Sixty Special which has the correct styling that made the Sixty Special so unique and sought after.   Everything this Cadillac is missing.

Might just be my imagination but is there missing sheet metal along the lower edge of the trunk lid?

Maybe the seller means it was in storage with seals, rather than sealed storage.

Someone said a car rusted away in a sealed shipping container because of the trapped moisture. And the person who put it there assumed it would be preserved as it went in.

It's the GM Fisher B-Body Series 37-60, Style 37-6019 touring sedan, factory priced $1,545.   The entry-level Series 60 shared the new all-steel bodies with other GM makes Oldsmobile, Buick and LaSalle.  The model year production for the Series 60 was 7,003 cars, the most popular of the 1937 line.  Its safe to say this touring sedan was the highest production of the Series 60, is not difficult to find in much better condition than this unfortunate example.  As noted, the 60 Special arrived for 1938, shares little other than the powertrain with other Series 60 Cadillacs.
