Jeff Perkins / Mn
I would find space in my garage for this one. PlymouthCranbrook, I don’t recall how many wood blocks I left behind where I parked my 1946 Dodge (back in 1978-82) but I could have a nice evening fire in the fireplace with all of them! 4 hours ago, plymouthcranbrook said: Pretty nice even with the dent but still the ubiquitous block at the rear wheel. Should fix the parking brake. No park position on the trans unless I am mistaken. When you put a automatic without park position in reverse you have a handbrake ..I do it all the time at my 1950 cadillac .Of course my handbake works also .

I know that Reverse becomes Park when the ket is "OFF" in a Hydra-Matic, as with our '54 Cadillac, and other former GM Hydros ('51 Pontiac, '52 Caddy, '52 Nash etc), but am not certain if this is the case with other types of automatic transmissions, such as MoPar's Power-Flyte/TorqueFlyte, or a Borg-Warner. mopar_mutt_57
What in the world could possibly justify a price increase like THAT?!?
deaddds
Wiggle room to give a buyer the upper hand in negotiations! Quite the stud, talked the buyer down 60% .
suchan
I think the seller is getting some bad advice. Almost tripling the asking price of a car that isn't selling doesn't sound like something you'd come up with on your own.

I think it tells us that the seller isn't very knowledgeable about antique cars--but for some reason has possession of this one. Advice of neighbor, even less knowledgeable: "Joe, your $9500 asking price is 'way too low! Antique car collectors are rich. They'll pay anything if they really want it. You can always go down, but you can't go up." And so the seller listens to every illogical argument that man has ever known---
