Oldtech Posted January 28, 2021 Share Posted January 28, 2021 That might be a tough one to find. There were on the weak side. When I was young we had a 27-27, Plowing snow Dad tore the rear diff up. Hubert_25-25 Posted February 1, 2021 Share Posted February 1, 2021 Ron, Attached are my notes to supplement the Buick Standard rear axle adjustment that is loosely described in the shop manual. It would be prudent to check the ring and pinion mesh in the replacement rear axle prior to installation. These are not a robust part and yours is not the first to experience breakage. So this is my procedure for checking the rear axle gear mesh. Take notes on how everything was set up and see if you like the original setting or if you feel an adjustment needs to be made.
