parrts
Nice looking old Silver Wraith.
alsancle
I can still see the corner of the 500k SR 😁. The Silver Wraith was the top of the line RR chassis in the 1950s and should not be confused with the prewar version. HP progressively got higher through the 50s with minor mechanical updates. I believe ALL were coachbuilt. You need to sit in one to understand the build quality. I came home from the hospital as a baby in one, and used it in my prom. Wonderful driving cars, silky smooth and VERY reliable. Good luck with the sale.
West Peterson
Silky smooth and plenty powerful. We have one that I've driven quite a bit. The question, though, is who is the coachbuilder? Looks to be Hooper, but very similar to Mulliner.
roysboystoys
Can someone point out the shift lever? I've looked at both dash photos and I'm missing it.

This car is a stick, ours is a factory GM automatic. But I'm sure the experience is similar. Very misunderstood and underappreciated cars.

I would give you a thumbs up but they are disabled for you. I like the headlights. The R100s were a special order on my dad's car which caused quite a commotion when the RROC called them an owner add on in the magazine. Big Al didn't take too kindly to that.
West Peterson
I don't know why that's disabled. Maybe the powers that be don't want me to be encouraged.

deaddds
What are the sets of buttons on each rear seat side? I thought maybe power window buttons but see the manual cranks.

Indirect "theater" lighting in the rear; division window up and division window down, and the window shade.
deaddds
Thanks. So my next question becomes how reliable are these cars or more pointedly, how much “routine” maintenance do these cars require? If a car like this is fully functional without having sat for months or years, what would be normal service requirements or expected costs to keep it from becoming a major money pit horror story that seems to be the myth/ truth of high end cars.
West Peterson
Pretty straight forward in regard to maintenance.
Aaron65
I love 1950s Rolls-Royces; I'm not in the income bracket where ownership is a good decision, but I admire them from afar.

bryankazmer
The shifter allows discreet operation by the chauffeur without unseemly arm waggling in the view of the passenger.
