Mostly air-cooled VW's), 25 Ford T Bucket, 64 Dodge Dart convertible to name a few. I have always wanted a BIG 50's area car to drive around with with the wife and kids. Here is a brief story on my adventure a couple weeks back along with my dad to unearth this amazing time warp of a 1955 Nash Ambassador Super in addition to a treasure trove of finds from a longtime collector. For the past 15 years, my coworker spoke of his fathers passions for vintage Nash's. At his height he had 21 vehicles on his farm in Northeast Ohio. He knew I am obsessed with vintage VW's and sent me a message a few months back with a picture of an old VW Club of America badge wanting to know its history. I had never seen one and said if he was ever interested in selling it to let me know. He said he was helping his father (85 years young) to clear out what was left of his collection. His father worked at a Nash dealership in the 1950's and his father (grandfather of my co-worker) owned a Nash dealership in the 1930's! We struck a deal on the badge and I said to let me know what else he had. He said 'You are going to need a truck to haul all of this stuff out of here!' Ha ha! So that's what we did. Flew up to Ohio from Orlando, rented a truck and trailer and brought everything back including this 1955 Nash! After weeks we are still sorting through all of the antique porcelain signs, dealership brochures, cans, Model T era parts, 1912 Bowser gas pump, NOS parts, etc... Scored an extremely rare 1921 Michelin 60" doubled sided sign that hung on the Buckley building when it was built in 1921! Nash runs solid but I need to replace the fuel line, flush the tank, rebuild the water pump and give the brakes an overhaul. The car is complete minus the rear view mirror. everything is original and has never been messed with. I will post up some interior pictures as well. Plan is to keep her all original just as is and drive the crap out of it! It came from South Dakota and the guy I purchased it from (2nd owner) has owned it for the last 25 years. Super solid car and excited to be its current caretaker! Looking forward to meeting some Nash guys on here as I am sure I will have many questions as I have never owned one of these vehicles before. I will stop the jabbing for now and let the pictures do the talking... If it's been sitting idle for long you need to replace the torque tube drive stabilizer trunnion for safety and reliable driving. Find them at NashRamblerRubber.com along with other rubber, emblems and technical books you might need. It's nice that you're keeping your Nash original and are planning to drive it and show it.
