1956 hood hinge color?

Can someone tell me the correct color for the hood hinges and springs on a 1956 Buick Super? I don't think this shiny silver is correct.

I recall a thread years ago that the springs were different colors for different cars. Green was one of the colors.

I have a nice original set from a 57 that are silver cadmium with darkish-red springs

All I will say is that at the time I bought my car it was nothing more than thoroughly used, and the likelihood that someone before me up and decided to paint the hood springs lime green is very small. There is no overspray lime green on my hinges. My car was built in CA. Chances are other factories used other colors. I dont think hinge spring colors are deductible in BCA judging but that may be incorrect.  So the color charts the limit.

Was the same hinge used on different series? Different color spring, different strength for longer/heavier hood? Just guessing.

An interesting post script. While the color is not indicated, the 1960 parts manual shows a different hood spring for each yom 53-60

It would make sense to have different colors at a dealership. Maybe.

i have been involved with 60 Buicks most of my life and we have a couple of 60 gurus on Long Island 

and all of us have pondered with no answer but 60's had either green or black springs on hood hinges so pick your color and

hinges i believe are silver cad.
