kdml
Is the plate under the rear speaker on a ‘65 shorter when you have the optional armrest? I am not sure if my car originally came with a rear center armrest as I had parts for with and without the armrest. I decided to restore the armrest and install. I tried to install the plate under the rear speaker and it appears too tall with the armrest in place. I’m thinking it’s a plate for no armrest and the plate with an armrest is shorter. Any thoughts? kdml
Thanks Tom Just when I thought I had every part I would need to complete this restoration.
RivNut
Try cutting something out of a thick piece of plastic or Lexan or ??????. Paint it with some black krinkle paint. Don't tell anyone and chances are no one will know; especially if you leave the armrest up.

Contact the vendors in the back of the Riview. I'm sure one of them can come up with the shorter armrest filler panel. Bill
abandg
It can be cut down to size.
telriv
AS Gene has stated it can be cut down in size. ANYONE who has an armrest for sale will most likely not break up a set for any money.. But who knows it doesn't hurt to ask.
Wedgewood64
Anyone happen to have a photo of what the plate looks like on the bottom edge, how it attaches? I see the flanges on the top. I have the arm rest option retrofitted, but I don't have the plate. I'm happy to jerry-rig something (better than a hole...), I have the fabric. But I'm not sure what to aim for. Photo above doesn't explain how it actually attaches.
1965rivgs
There are tabs on the top edge as pictured and the bottom edge is smooth...it basically just presses in place and friction holds it there...pretty cheesy, Tom Mooney

It doesn’t attach other than the tabs sliding up into the slots. Seat cushions and lower padded filler hold it in
Wedgewood64
Thanks to Tom and Brian--Brian, if you have the details and can spare the time, it'd be great.

Wedgewood64
Very helpful to see that, thanks Brian--I don't think there were any shots of that on the site. for some reason I thought the piece would be upholstered, but I get it now. I think I'm going to go the upholstered route. I'll post a picture with whatever I rig up. thanks again. Nick
Wedgewood64
well, here's my improvisation. I just snaps in. Won't fool anyone who knows, but I don't know anyone who knows. Note the difference between the Clark's dark blue and the originally upholstered seat back.
