He is also the one who applied my varnish. Now it will be up to the bodybuilder to continue these exterior doors, .... A friend of mine's dad also had one for a company car in 1969-same gold color as my grandfather's, and also a four door hardtop. About the only option my grandfather's car didn't have that my friend's dad had were power door locks. His dad worked for GMAC, the credit arm of GM, which was a huge money maker at the time for the company, and was a real GM loyalist. Inside his house were all Frigidaire appliances in lovely Coppertone, which was a GM division at the time. Craig
sebastienbuick
this person was well placed I did not know that there were optional electric locks, I would like to know that for certain models there were air locks (by engine vacuum).Last year I saw a nice GM fridge for sale, but someone already bought and reserved it

The International dealer 135 miles south of here has two functioning I-H refrigerators in the lunchroom. Yes, the door locks in that '69 Wildcat were electric solenoid. They were LOUD, and worked with the engine off. I have seen earlier cars with the vacuum door locks, including my '67 Thunderbird, and a '66 Oldsmobile with vacuum trunk release. Once the vacuum was 'used up', after a only few uses, one had to start the engine again to evacuate air out of the reserve tank under the hood. Yes it's a shame for this fridge, I arrived too late Okay, I don't know it was already electric. A friend has an Eldorado 69 and he has the closing and opening of the doors and trunk pneumatic (which works by vacuum of the engine), a very modern option for the time! Even now in 2020 we don't have the option of opening the automatic trunk.I saw on a video that there was this option (opening of the trunk by vacuum of the engine) on an Electra 69 too, I did not know that there was this option for my car too . RivNut
My 1990 Buick Riviera has the electric trunk release as well as the electric pull down, which, when you engage the trunk with the pull down, electronically does a soft close so you don't have to slam the trunk lid to seal it.

RivNut
Even the lowest models being built in the US are now outfitted with gimmick devices. The low priced Ford Escape SUV has a lift gate that can be activated "hands free" by passing your foot under a sensor. I don't know how soon it will get here but fully autonomous cars will be everywhere.

Yes you are right, the cars are more and more equipped. In France we have a low-end car brand (Dacia), they are not expensive, no equipment, ... but it was in the year 2005.The Dacia of 2020 is starting to be equipped too, whereas normally they had to be very simple, without any option.
