Help determining value of classic cars

Hey, new to the forums. My dad has a few older cars he is looking to get rid of. Not advertising here, just would like some advice on where/how to determine what these might be worth. Any resources online? Or would we be better off just bringing them to a swap meet.

There not in great shape. Some have engines, some just the body. Thanks for any help.

Not pictured (Another 58 Chevy, Another 59 Cadillac)

There not in great shape. Some have engines, some just the body. I'll just include one photo here to give an idea of the condition. The rest are in similar shape. Thanks for any help.

All depends what they are, I will gladly help determine value, but value is really what someone is willing to pay.  It's a guess, and will either be high or low.

You would likely be better off to advertise them locally so people can inspect them. If there is a large amount of vehicles you might consider an auction. Wayne

Generally cars sitting out in the woods up to their axles in mud are worth scrap value.   However, in your picture I spy the 58 Impala and mid-60s convertible.

So post a bunch of pictures on here and you will get good feedback on anything worth more than scrap.

The Impala looks reasonably decent, should generate quite a bit of interest.  What is the status of the paperwork ?   Ebay is best to get an idea of value, check what others have sold for. And try listing it with a highish reserve. If no one bites try locally . Craigslist people are generally a pain, but it only takes 1 person who is serious.  What else do you have ?

58's are bringing stupid money. From the photo it looks "to solid" for the location it is in. I would suggest unearthing it before selling it and have it rolling. It would be a perfect parts car for a project. You might even do better parting it out on ebay, from what I could see those front fenders look very nice, even the rear quarters look clean,

Where are you located? looks like the northeast from the photo

Thanks for all the replies. Much appreciated.

I am located in Minnesota. Just south of the Twin Cities. I believe the one pictured has a 348 in it, but would need to confirm.

Yes, there are a few more vehicles. There are 2 more 58 Chevys (total of 3, only have pictures for 2 right now), a 65 Malibu (Pretty sure that's the year, have to double check with him), 2 63 Cadillacs (Only one pictured) ,2 59 Cadillacs (need to get pictures for the other one. Much better shape than the one pictured above) and a 1973 (or 1974) Chevy Chevelle Laguna.

I've attached the additional photos. Need to get the brush/trees out of there to get some better shots yet. However, we just got dumped on with snow so it could be a while.

The 58' s are going to be worth the most unless the other 59 Cad. {in better shape ?} is also a convertible. The 59 convert. you have shown is probably too rough to restore but who knows . When done they can be worth serious money, {serious money + $20,000.00 to restore yours however}. The others are pretty ho hum in the present condition. The 65 Malibu will be worth saving to someone, the 63 Cad's comparatively low in value along with the Laguna unless it really is a 454 engine option version in which case it is also reasonably valueable.

The pictures look similar to a lot of Craigslist pictures I have seen. The images can really be enhanced if you move the cars at least 3 feet before taking the final one for the ad.

Over the years I have sold a lot of cars in worse condition. I bring them home and clean them as if I was going to a car show. It gives the appearance that someone loves them. There is something about an unloved car that just doesb't pull your heart strings like an unloved puppy would, or get your wallet out.

I do like the idea of planting trees at each end of the car to keep someone from coming in during the night and stealing them. If I was younger I'd try that. (Not enough time now)
