Dave B.
This photo appeared today in our local newspaper. The photo is of the St. Cloud Fire Station in 'Central City', now a part of western Huntington, WV.The caption says "1905", but I believe it's later than that. Can anyone ID the year/make of the car? Thanks in advance!Dave B.

keiser31
Possibly 1910 or 11 Regal.Weren't they built on an underslung chassis? The car in question isn't.
Dave Henderson
Columbia, ca. 1912 I'm thinkin'
Layden B
I think the Columbia is more likely 1910.Only some Regals were underslung, not all Americans were underslung either. This is an American un-underslung!
nzcarnerd
Re the Columbia - with that kick up in the rear fender I agree that 1910 would be more correct.
Dave Mellor NJ
Not too much the same except the shape of the radiator
Dave B.
Thanks to all who replied! This ID is turning out to be more difficult than I expected... I've been doing some digging on my own, too. Any chance that it might be a Jackson? Best regards,Dave B. Edited October 27, 2015 by Dave B. Dave Henderson
even when comparing the mystery car to an artist's conception of an unspecified and probably different year Columbia there are similarities. 12 spoke wheels, similar side lights and dash panel between hood and cowl, dip of side in front of front seat back. Dave Mellor NJ
There sure are a lot of cars that have that general shape on the radiator. I haven't seen that axle with the wide drop.http://earlyamericanautomobiles.com/1910.htm
Leif Holmberg
Just wonder if it can be a mix of 1911-1912 Oakland, script on the radiator, the stright front of the fender, front axle, radiator,???????Leif in Sweden.
Dave Mellor NJ
Also the way the hand crank's hanging. I think Leif got it.
Dave Henderson
Similarity in how the crank hangs? The Oakland's radiator proportions are way off, and it has leather windshield support straps while the mystery car seems to have brass rods. Wheels and axle are similar, but both likely supplier items.
Leif Holmberg
1911 Oakland had 3 different wheel bases 102"-106" and 112". 1912 Oakland had also 3 different wheel bases 106"-112" and 120".Why shouldn`t there be some differens between those cars, for example on the radiator as you say are "way off".Sorry but I can`t see the differanses on the radiators? And the lokal newspaper picture has the top removed what I can see.Leif in Sweden.
