JACK M
I put an ad up looking for one of these a few years ago and got a reply from a guy that had seen one in a second hand store. He went and got it and sent it to me.Good people on here. I don't remember how much, but that doesn't matter as I have it now.
28 Chrysler
I'll up the bid to 27¢Are you springing for the shipping ?
Bleach
I won't bid against you '28 as I can't figure out how this tool works despite the OP's description. Interesting tool though.
28 Chrysler
You open it up, slide it between the panel and handle against the clip, squeeze, then look for the clip for a half an hour.
Bleach
Sounds like it can do about the same thing I do with a thin piece of wire with a small hook bent at the end to grab the clip.
alsancle
Does the handle mechanism make it any easier? The ones I have seen just have the base that you slip under the handle to push out he clip. Those seem to work fine.
auburnseeker
It's actually for mid to late 50's mopars. I have one but haven't had the joy to see how it works yet. I was told by a friend that has one it's a real job to get those style clips off without it. Here is a picture of a late 50's Plymouth door handle. Guest grandpasgarage
everything ive read on this tool is they are hard to come by and good to have. ive seen old auctions in which they get $200+
JACK M
Its been awhile since I used mine, but it isn't the kind that sends the clip flying. If I am remembering correctly the clip is a U shaped affair that needs to be pinched just right to release the handle. The clip stays in the handle. D Yaros
Figures it would be for MOPARs. My experience is that Chrysler was notorious for doing things different from the majority.
Bleach
$200 might be a bit optimistic. Here are some real world sales: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=k-d%20435&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&rt=nc&_trksid=p2045573.m1684
auburnseeker
I love the people that tell me how valuable stuff is when I'm buying it because once upon a time they saw one advertised for a crazy price or found the one freak auction where 2 guys and maybe some alcohol had a contest to see who could spend the most. I can attest to the fact that one item that sold for 100.00 last week may only sell for 20.00 the second week. Just look at my completed ebay listings and you will see just a few such examples.
