Guest shadetree77
More...by the way I just noticed that the picture uploader is mixing up the photos. They are supposed to be in order by year and they are when I select them for uploading, but the new picture uploading system is messing them up and it's way too user UNfriendly to go back and reposition them in the correct order. I have to say, I DO NOT like the new photo uploading part of the forum. No complaints elsewhere but this photo uploader is overly complicated and buggy. Anyway, enjoy the pictures such as they are! Guest BigDogDaddy
Take a look at photo # 7 of post 772. Even way back then people put aftermarket portholes on their cars. Ironically, these are wannabe Buick portholes...on a Buick ! The pic says it is a 1942 Buick, so this must have been probably in the early 50s. Guest BigDogDaddy
Photo # 15 of post 773, the car appears to be a 1953 Special based on the three portholes and the hubcaps not having the V emblem. Yet it has the Roadmaster side trim. Even if the hubcaps were changed, the three portholes would mean it is a Super. But the dies trim was upgraded to Roadmaster trim. Interesting custom touch. smithbrother
That 53 Lark in post #773 is as COOL a Buick ever made, at least in the 50's. We owned one, and also a 54, but the 53 IMO is the winner of ALL LARKS, period. Drop that baby an inch or two, and kill for one. Just my little ole opinion. Guest shadetree77
Here's a few I made from one of the pictures above. The eyes are slightly different in each one. Looks like a simple change to the original picture but when you have to re-engineer the pictures over and over through several low-end editing programs because you don't have Photoshop.....it takes a while. Yes, I'm bored at work again. They make awesome desktop wallpapers though. The Devil went down to Georgia.....and he was driving a BUICK!!:eek:Here's some links if you want a bigger version for each wallpaper:Picture1Picture

Guest BigDogDaddy
Now, if that were a 53 or 54, it would have been perfect for the cover of the Stephen King book, From A Buick Eight. They just made the lower grill glow red.
Guest shadetree77
Certainly Ben. That's why I put up the links to the larger photos. Just in case somebody wanted it for a wallpaper. Glad you like it. I've always liked how the early 50's Buicks looked like monsters. My Aunt told me a story about how her Uncle used to own one and it always gave her nightmares when she was little. In certain lighting with a little imagination, they do look kind of creepy! Here's some I posted here once before that I made from my own car. They look good if you make your desktop background color black and center them on the screen. Can you tell I'm a horror movie fanatic?
