1937hd45
Nice photo posted on the HAMB thread Vintage Shots From Days Gone By. Were is this car today, and what is its history? Bob
alsancle
It looks like a 36 JN Rollston Conv coupe. Chris or Randy will chime in with the J number.
1937hd45
Thanks! I knew it was a late one with the skirted front fenders, what is a "JN"? So elegant with the blackwalls. trimacar
To me, that looks like a posed car show shot.....not a "period" photograph...note the hood is up....I'd be willing to bet it's an early 50's car show, and blackwall truck tires were the only thing available to keep it rolling.....pure conjecture of course..... West Peterson
"She drives a Duesenberg!" and she's in distress. The low-hanging doors would signify JN more-so than the skirted fenders and the small wheels.I see CCCA and ACD club badges, so David is probably correct. BobBob, the last 10 chassis were designated JN. They had a number of minor mechanical modifications. I think they were all bodied by Rollston. As West mentions, the biggest thing was the door overhanging the chassis which was a much more up to date look.
Steve_Mack_CT
Great shot, and I would agree with David that little clues like the dress of the two gents in the background and lic. plate bracket (of course, could have been on there pre-war) seem to say "50s car show" to me as well, - except I would argue that is "period"... alsancle
I think it is J533 which is currently in the Nethercutt Museum. Blower added later.
mike brady
The Auburn-Cord-Duesnberg badge mounted on the front helps date this photo. The blackwalls are more likely what was available then as opposed to choice. Agreed it is a Rollston, but I can't tell if it is a coupe or a victoria. Steve_Mack_CT
I thought that might be a car club badge of some kind but could not make it out.Are the lights on the fenders an accesory of some type? They are not on the modern pic form A.J. ...

poci1957
Good eyes Steve, the center badge may be early CCCA and the one to the (car's) left of that looks like maybe ACD club. I cannot ID the one on the right.
1937hd45
You have a red X in your photo box. If the blower was added is it from the Duesenberg that was on Chassing Classic Cars show that was in a thread here a month ago? I think it is J533 which is currently in the Nethercutt Museum. Blower added later.

Dave Henderson
The ACD Club badge pictured below dated 1954 would be the likely one to have been used on the car in the assumed era of the photo. The badge on the car, from the best I can make out, does not appear to be this one, nor the subsequent version 0f the ACD badge.
Guest Commodore
This Duesenberg is not J533. My father owned J533 from 1944 to 1955. J533 did not have louvered hood sides. It had screened hood sides with outside exhaust pipes.Steve Marshall
alsancle
If not 533, then probably 565?Bob, I'm told the blower on 533 was assembled from parts out of the Harrah collection.
