38Buick 80C
I forgot to say a few things about our show within a show.We had 18 Buicks, at least one from every decade from 1938 to 2008. I did not get pictures of all of them however; there was just so much going on. As usual we had a great representation of Buick as a whole because we had Pre-war, Rivs, 50's Chrome, a Reatta, unrestored, perfectly restored, drivers (from as far as Mass.) this year for some reason we didn't have any GSGN guys but they showed the day earlier and as you saw in the photos above we had a GS go through victory lane. One day we'll get some Brass era or 20's Buicks. As for our little shows awards. They are peer judged.Best of Show: 54 Landau 2nd overall: '72 Riviera owned by John Herold (I did not get a photo if it) Special Recognition: '38 Special owned by Curtis Coulthard for a couple reasons, it was the oldest car in the show and except for Frank's Riv the longest driven. And FinallyBest Unrestored Original Buick: '90 Reatta Marck Barker AKA "NCReatta" here on the forum. I didn't get a photo but I borrowed one from a "friend" Edited April 12, 2011 by 38Buick 80C Wrong year noted for Reatta (see edit history)
progoofoff
Marck`s Reatta was very nice and deserved the award. What was more impressive was Marck himself. A very well mannered, somewhat shy young man. It was my pleasure meeting him.Bob
NCReatta
Thanks Bob and Brian! I really appreciate it! Truly some beautiful Buicks at the show. Oh, P.S. Brian, my convertible was a '90. Don't want you to get hampered by any Reatta folks that might visit.
Barney Eaton
I was just about to jump on Brian for posting a convertible (that came out as a 1990 model)and talking about your 1989. Brian is very knowledgeable about cars and Buicks and would not normally make that error....... probably typing fingers moving faster than the brain. Thriller
That '61 Electra looks pretty nice with the red wheels. Was it more modified than the decal / paint on the fender? Any details? I'm not particularly interested for purchasing, but you don't get to see too many '61s for sale.
