  1. Well "The Last Ride" movie trailer has been updated and the movie will be released in October. Go to Facebook and search the title "The Last Ride" and look at all of the neat cars. There is a good still pic of my '50 if you look at the trailer on Facebook.
  2. I've used this person a couple of times and he is a top shelf hauler out of that area. His name is Leo Ph# is 602-509-7720
  3. It has the rare front blinker fins that protect the blinker lenses.
  4. Did anyone see the Green and white '56-'58 Buick in a parking lot with water up to the doors on Fox News. You would have thought the owner would have gone to higher ground.
  5. I had my 2 Buicks in the movie "The Last Ride" which is the last few days of Hank Williams Sr life riding in the back of his Caddy. The movie will be out in September.
  6. There is a Opel Kadette Wagon not far from where I live in really decent shape for 2k. A little steep for a project car .
  7. If you pull 1 lifter I would pull them all and disassemble them all. How long did you say that mtr sat up??? I really hope you pull that oil pan, just my 2 cents. I know the TSM is vague on the adjusment procedure but after I read it a few times it stated making a little sence.
  8. I posted pics of my '50 straight 8 engine that had sat for 20-30 yrs in Buick-General section under the post "Didn't quite make it" . That will give you some real proof of what an engine looks like that has sat for Yeaaars !!! Good Luck!
  9. I can't find my pics when I did this job. However, after I cleaned up the oil pan I held it to the sun and found that all the baked on stuff on the pan was gone and revealed small pin holes. I got lucky an got one off ebay for $20.00. I also pulled the lifters and found most were collapsed. I disassembled them and cleaned them and I had to replace some as they were shot from sitting up for so long. All of this takes work but its better to do ALL of it now and not have to worry about seizeing the motor. You will be ahead of the game if you do it right the first time. I know what it like to want to drive it now, but good things come to those who wait. If you need any help just give me a call. --Dorsey
  10. When I bought my 1st '50 Buick(not run in 20 yrs) I dropped the oil pan to find grease instead of oil. The oil had turned to sludge which I scooped out with a BIG spoon. I dropped all main and rod caps and cleaned the crank with brake clean. I also disassembled the Oil Pump. I then disassembled the rocker arm assy. that had dried oil internally. That rocker arm assy. took forever to clean. Any and every oil line I cleaned to insure proper oiling. I never had a problem after I got it running.
  11. I was at that car show in Aug. of '09 when I picked up my '50 Buick Sedanette from Toms Rivers ,NJ. I had just floated the Ocoee River when I saw an old car going the opposite direction so I turned around and followed him in to Hiawassee,GA. What a great place to visit tucked away in those mountains. I won the $$$ raffle that paid for part of my trip. Good luck on your trip in your new ride.
  12. I think I know where a parts car is in Arkansas. I'll have to check. What are you looking for???
  13. Less than 15 of these known to still exist. Ebay # 150630596266 So much more massive than a Ford Woody.
  14. Great educational piece for the youth of today and tomorrows adults. Was the '40 buick a 3 on the tree??? Most kids of today don't even know what that means.
  15. My transmission fluid smells burned but was red not too long ago but is now dark. Is there something going on in my tranny thats causing this fluid to do this. It shift fine and if I change it will I start having problems?
  16. I have a front and rear NOS bumper/grill accessory bars for a '48-'49 Olds Futuramic for sale. One of them still wrapped in the factory paper.
  17. I was lucky yesterday as my garage that I keep my cars in was broken into at 1:15PM in broad daylight. They took a crowbar to the steel door and pryed the door open . My partner in the garage, just happened to drive by and saw the guy in front of the door. He pulled over and called me as I live 1 min. from the Garage. We found his partner in crime behind the building in their SUV. We called the cops and one of the guys took off before the cops got there. The one was arrested and the other has a warrant for his arrest. This garage has thousnds of cars passing it everyday. If a thief wants something he doesn't care if he is breaking the law. I'm VERY LUCKY that my partner just happened to pass by at that time or they would have cleaned our clock. I don't like to make insurance claims.
  18. I'm 53 for 28 more days. I bought my 1st Buick 3 years ago which was a 1 owner '50 Buick Super 2dr and sold it to buy my current '50 Spcial Sedanette 2dr. I have also owned 2 more '50 Buick 4dr's that I bought ,fixed and sold. I own 5 others that are not Buicks.
  19. Well the trailer has been released and pulled a couple of times for "The Last Ride" a movie about Hank Williams Sr. However, the trailer has been released in China and can be seen on their link. The movie will be released in early summer. The trailer shows my Baby Blue '50 Buick . I also had another '50 Buick in the movie. You can Google The Last Ride movie Hank Williams. There is a post: A Hank Williams Journal by John Waugh that has a link to the China trailer.
  20. Great Looking '53. I was in a junk yard this weekend and I looked at '53 2dr Super that had seen its better days. It was a complete car 25 yrs ago. It was sad.
