  5. If I owned one my left foot would have problems slipping off of the clutch. LOL. A buddy of mine in high school drove his mothers '70 455 GS, automatic on the column. At 20-30 mph hit the gas and hold on as the smoke boiled out from under the rear end. Oh the MEMORIES!!!

  9. This thread is 3 days old and you haven't bought the car YET??? Your SLACKING!!!
  10. Thanks for posting the pic of L.R. ARK. All of the BIg names stores ie. Dilliards, Cohns, Phiffers, Kempners... are all gone. They moved west away from Downtown. The only one I know that has survived is Dilliards but not downtown. Instead of saving all of the great architectural Bldgs they are being razed. The Little Rock planners killed Downtown when they closed off main street and made it a walking mall . Back in the early 60's I would get off of the school bus blocks from my parents office and walk the car dealerships. I looked for hood scoops which usually meant Big blocks and 4speeds. Times have changed. Now we can't say Merry Christmas without being scorned. I did drive my ' 50 Buick Sedanette on Christmas even though it began to rain and then freezing rain and then @ 10-12" of snow. I had been without power for 5 days but it was restored last night. I was having withdrawls for my favorite car web sites. My name is Dorsey and I'm a autoholic.
  11. I'm parting out a '65 Chevelle 4 dr sedan. It has Factory A/C. I have the original Bias ply spare tire. Call me anytime 501-626-0067
  12. You do not use these on the front holes. You use these in the middle towards the back. I did use sealant on the gasket and put them up together. You have to be careful when your sliding the pan over the cross member. These blue platic devices just hold the pan in place while your starting bolts and don't have enogh hands. These devices helped me and my OP didn't leak. Any air ratchet will remove OP bolts. If you don't own air ratchets the butter-fly would be a nice one to own.
  13. Here is what I used. They came in a gst set for a chevrolet or something. My buddy gave me some and I can send them to you if you can't find any. Take this pic with you and see if they can help you out.
  14. I've never heard of thread except on sealing the case halves on a volkswagon engine. They make a plastic device that screws into the oil pan bolt holes. Then goes the gasket and the the oil pan. The plasic studs hold the gst. and oil pan till you get other bolts started.
  15. The old oil pan removal. If this car has been sitting for years as mine had it might have holes in the pan. The dried grunge on the bottom of the pan held the grease/oil/water in the pan. I cleaned my pan only to find it had spider holes in the bottom. Yes it was time for a new/used pan. I bought a used one off of ebay for $10-15. Getting the oil pan off is the easy part. Putting it back on and not srewing up the gasket is MO fun. There is a trick.
