  1. Very sad to hear this. I used to talk with him at past BCA Nationals. Deep condolences to his family.
  2. Mowed the lawn (such as it is with our drought) on Saturday due to anticipating some rain on Sunday. Has been raining since Sunday and expected thru Wednesday. So, no because I have another car to drive when it rains.
  3. Fired up a new laptop this morning with OS Windows 11 and MS Edge as my browser. Read online Bugle with no issue.
  4. Was able to read no prob using OS Windows 8.1 with MS Edge as my browser.
  5. Daves89 came across the Utopicar blind side mirrors (model # BSM-017) on Amazon. He bought them and recommended them to Reatta owners on Ronnie's Reatta Owners Forum. I bought 3 pair to place on my Reatta, Eldorado, and Caddy ATS. I too recommend them to all Reatta owners. I know Ronnie has bought them, also.
  6. Lived in San Diego 1950-1956 (La Mesa). Dad was career Navy and a DI at the Naval Training Center right after his 2nd TOD in Korea.
  7. All I can say is "WOW, talk about a traffic jam!".
  8. I'm thinking very late 40's to very early 50's.
  9. I agree with John re: check the Buick's sub-frame. I ran into this rust-out problem with last gen Rivieras ('95-'99) which had the same sub-frame, and they are just about extinct.
  10. I suspect there might be some history somewhere, but we'd need a VIN to check into it.
  11. The floor looks fantastic...with Rita's help, of course! I hope you build some sort of "She-Shed" for her after all the work she's put in for you. Looks like you're going to have to build your own electric power generating sub-station to handle all your lighting fixtures (good work on them, BTW). Additionally, I had a grand aunt named Nelle (Shagley/Shipman side of the family).
  12. Used to catch the trolly at Newton Upper Falls to go to/from college in Boston.
  13. Ditto from me, also. BTW my maternal grandmother's name was Lucy...short for Lucia (Coletti).

Bcdave, you don't have to be a member to attend as a car-show-day spectator. You can walk around the cars free of charge. In order to be a participant in the meet, you'd have to register as either a non-BCA member or become a BCA member.
  16. He was probably left-handed, but most likely in his right mind!
  17. John, I am so sorry to hear that your lovely wife has passed. God bless her and may she rest in peace. Take care, Your BCA friend, Dave Shipman
  18. Do a search on this forum for further info on 7th gen Riviera and Reatta rear shocks. None are to be found, none are being manufactured by vendors, and one guy is trying to come up with an "outside the box build one yourself" solution. Also, go to Ronnie's Reatta Owners Journal Forum !!!!REAR STRUTS FOUND!!! - Reatta Owners Journal Forum - Reatta Owners Journal Forums for additional info.
  19. The time between you logging on and me doing the same, I'm guessing that someone bought them up. They have become a very hot item to find for both the Riviera and Reatta. Luckly, I had the front and rear shocks replaced on my Reatta two years ago. And, I have in my "cellar inventory stock" a replacement pair of both (and not for sale!).
  20. Ed, Rock Auto lists the rear shocks as "out of stock".
  21. A lot of chatter on this forum and the Reatta Owners Forum re: 7th gen Riviera and Reatta rear struts. They seem to no longer be manufactured and/or available. Many Reatta guys are willing to put the Riviera level control rear struts on their cars.
  22. Foghorn Leghorn...I loved that Southern rooster's cartoons.
