  1. Be sure to NOT scrape that gas rationing sticker off the rear window!
  2. I noticed that slanted windshield as well when I was sent the link to look at the robe rail. Then I saw the headlight bar and I started to get really confused on what I really have sitting in the garage (top irons are different as well - between mine and the ebay car). My car is a 18 or 19 but it has a combination of early and later parts that I am trying to sort out. Glad to know I am not the only one who was curious.
  3. Many thanks for advice and ebay numbers. I now have good images of what I need to construct. I also recieved some good photos to my email from other fellow DB owners - so I think now all I need to do is figure out which one is correct for my car. The only evidence I have of the previous robe rail are the mounting holes in the back of the front seat. They are about 1.5" apart center-to-center. The raised metal where the mounts mount is about 1" wide and 2.5" tall. Distance between the mounting holes is about 28.5". So now the search for parts adn the fabrication begins. Many thanks to all that have offered help. Have a happy holiday. Richard
  4. Mr. Arnett, As usual you have the answers! I should have stated my inquiry better. I really do not know what the original robe rail looks like. Was it metal with pivots (like on 30's era cars)or was it more of a fabric strap just fastened at each end? I just don't know. I searched the internet an old ebay postings with no much luck - no one really takes a photo of the back of the front seat. So from you reply it sounds like it was more of a strap secured at each end with enough play to drape a thick blanket over. Were these 'rails' leather bound, cloth or a fabric weave of some sort? Were they any particular color? a certain diameter? I would like to be as authentic as I can get.
  5. So here is this yers Christmas card that we sent out. It was my wife's idea to have it taken around the Dodge. The kids (and all the neighbors) love this car. The Z3 is the second favorite and the 72 Eldo conv. is the least favorite - I've had it over 17 years and including it in a family photo has never been an option! So the Dodge has the most miles on it this year.
  6. As the title states, I need to fabricate a 'robe rail' for my 1919 touring. I just finished my 'sod'/engine pans and am ready for the next missing item. Any fellow DB members that could email me or post some photos of the mounts and rail itself would be much appreciated. Thanks in advace, Richard ltpope@knology.net
  7. Same building in the background.
  8. Sorry, I'm not sure what is correct for your car but I am sure someone else here does. Is it a 1916? I have several different speedos with 'Dodge Brothers' on the face if you find out you need a particular type. I got these when I bought the car and do not know the correct application - all are complete and in good drivers shape. If you can get a picture of what you need, I may be able to help. I should have stated my need is for a 1919 Touring speedo cable. <Edited for spelling.
  9. Good Info...look like a good Xmas present for myself. I need the speedo cable (have the housing) as well.
  10. The roadster also has a very low number plate (60!) with a Star that the others do not have.
  11. The qaulity of the paint on that roadster is awesome. the reflections are so clear.
  12. What was their minimum order?
  13. Sounds like you have already isolated the problem. Bearing first, jack up the rear and spin each rear tire - see if you hear anything - lets rule out the wheel bearings first and then work inwards....
  14. the cars are 'deeper' than the lift? How in the world did they do this?
  15. Correction, looks more Maserati than Ferrari
  16. I like the black Mustang GTA (390) to the left. Not to mention the Vette with the 435 HP motor (bubble hood). What is the red car just behind the Chevy wagon? Looks ferrari?
  17. I have a spare gas tank for a 1916-1923 Dodge Brothers. It need s a new filler neck - gas tank cap neck - the rest is solid. I believe it has one or two slight indentation that could be easy straightened. Make me an offer.
  18. Jan, Would any of these work for a 19 touring? If you had a pair that would mount/work, I would be interested. Shoot me a PM. Sorry for the thread hi-jack; but it looks like it is at the end....
  19. I think CAdillacs had this vacuum assit as well. Maybe post over there?
  20. Probably exceeded the file size.Try resizing the image to a smaller size and reposting.
  21. Just in case yours is like mine and the float is no longer floating....you will see just the tip of the rod poking it head out of the small hole in the location that nearchoclatetown describes.
  22. My father in-law and family all lived in Mount Hope. We used to go up there for Thanksgiving and Christmas until we needed to bring the grandmother down here to take care of her. That is some really pretty country and extremely nice people. I doubt I will get that way again, but WV has a special place in our hearts - especially Beckley, Mount Hope and the New River Gorge.
  23. I am missing everything for my touring's robe rail - both mounts and the rail itself. I have not had much luck in locating any replacement. Any advice on what I could use as a viable solution? Thanks in advance, Richard
  24. Thats the order of my 1919 4 cylinder. Mine were out of sync when I got my car (blew my muffler to pieces!).
