  1. Scott...latest issue of TWOZ in the want ads in the back section, Tom Akins offers a fibreglass reproduction of the top of your air cleaner. Might be what you need.
  2. Scott, how about a picture of the air cleaner-filter you have? Some Ford air cleaner tops are similar to an actual LC unit. The "whole enchilada" if you can find one can be in the $400+ range. See ebay 360616483828 as an example.
  3. Click on Narragansett Reproductions ad in "sources" on the LZOC website. Page 17 under Trim Items-exterior- item TE 3 show the mirrors you are asking about. You might want to print out their catalog...lots of Lincoln Continental items for sale, just what you might need in the future.
  4. Lee,,,contact Skip Seaton at Skips Restoratons who is restoring Jack's car and knows all the details about the process. His cell is 1-724-984-6500 in PA. Or can be reached at the shop at 1-724-245-2949. Works with the plater regularily. He expects your call. Has been a great help to Jack.
  5. Lee...Jack is out of town attending a funeral. Try next Monday.
  6. Tom is out enjoying the balmy breezes of a caribbean criuse with his lovely wife Pat, and enjoying a respite from the wintry blasts of the snowy north. Dropped in here Sunday evening on his way to Ft. Lauderdale to say bon voyage...
  7. Champion spark plug service manual says H-10 for 1938
  8. The 36-48 Master Lincoln Chassis Parts Book list for 46-40 Lincolns a 5EH number for those years, so there is a difference. The shock bodies appear to be almost the same, I believe the arm length is the difference. Only a shock absorber rebuilded should be able to sort out the difference. There was an article in TWOZ in 1985 concerning shocks by the then club technical advisor Paul Clancy. He showed that prewar and post war shock bodies were almost the same size, but the shocks had different arms with different numbers. The weight of the prewar car versis postwar probably caused the different shocks . Post war shocks used arm #F917 for the front and F919 for the rears. If your shocks have those numbers you should be okay. If in doubt, check with a rebuilder.
  9. Living in your area, you might want it large enough for the snow blower to clear you driveway so you can drive your Lincoln year round.
  10. I'd rather have 22 or a 24 foot garage. Need breathing room to move around in front and back of car. Workbench in front of car? Hard to move with only a foot in front or a foot in back of car.
  11. Ron, check with Boos-Herrril. Part number 06H10883B.
  12. What's wrong with the good old 6 volt system use by millions of car in the past? Properly set up...worked fine before. why not now?. Especially since you are not planning on keeping the car. Just get a 6 volt OPTIMA red top battery. Why stick a new owner with a poor sysyem Just my opinion which you asked for.
  13. Thanks Dee. Gotta be a lot cheaper tha welding.
  14. Just a thought...anyone try using JB WELD? Heat shouldn't be factor. JB WELD has been used by some earlys V-8 owners to save flathead blocks.
  15. Very fine threads on the bolts. Will take a while to get them off. Will seem like forever to remove. I ground off part of both sides of the head of a 13mm box head wrench to make the head thin enough the slip over the head of the bolt. Worked for me.
  16. Welcome to the Lincoln Zephyr website. You will find excellent vendors of Lincoln parts under "Sources" on the master website. Do not believe anyone has NOS water pumps...long gone...your water pumps can be rebuilt. Contact www.fordcollector.com for water pump rebuilding info. Skip can also rebuild your V-12 coil, Early Ford V-8 people recommend him for their water pump and coil rebuilding. You might check with Merv Atkins for info on the motor mounts...again no NOS available. Let us know your needs...we're here to help you. Good luck.
  17. Brando. Excllent contact is supplier Ray Theriault in Connecticut. Long time specialist in K Lincoln. Email him at ray.theriault@cox.net You supplied photo appears to be a 1929 Lincoln not a 1939 Lincoln. Correct?
  18. Suggest you go beck to the LZOC website and click on the "sources" icon. Go to the Narragansett Restoration webpage and download their catalog. There you will find many restoration items you will be needing for your future needs..mechaincal parts complete wiring looms, supplies, etc. Been making Lincoln restration parts available for over 40 years. Fine people to dea with. I've used hem since 1976.
  19. Ken, according to the restoration manual, up to engine 69481 the color is Zephyr Brown Metallic and after that the color is Brown Beige Metallic. Would taking your glove box door to an automotive paint store and see if they can computer match the color get you the right color?. I don't know of any Lincoln dealer that offers the correct paint in a can.
  20. Dee, how about a photo or two of the system you use on your car? Interested in a similar system for my 47 LC. Any parts numbers of the valves you use?
  21. The restoration manual of the LZOC says "it will accept gold plating for judging" and the restoration manual of the LCOC also states it "will accept gold/brass plating for judging." Just an "elegant touch" for an "elegant" and deserving automobile.
  22. Go to "sources" on the LZOC webpage click on it, scroll down to "Narragansett Restorations. Click on their webpage and you will find on page 5 of their catalog all the 39 LZ wiring harnesses you will need to get you off and running. Have fun looking at all their offered LZ goodies.
  23. How about describing what you do have either by posting a picture or listing what is there?
