  1. There should be two plates on the passenger side of the fire wall. The almost square patent plate held on with 4 rivits and lower and to the left is the rectangular body data plate held on with two screws and embossed with the body series and body serial nimber---like 86H 720 (body style) and "1449" the body serial number." Example would be 86H 720 1440.
  2. Keith, not too much to go on. Pic # 1...left is a front seat back, middle between "X" brace looks like remanants of sun visors, and rear is looking into trunk area. Pic # 2 both front seat backs on left is the glove box cardboard. Pic # 3 again the front seat backs looking into the trunk area. Best I could do.
  3. OPPS...body tag would show for the 37 Zephyr coupe HB720=body sequential number. 86H is for 38 Zephyrs. Sorry
  4. Hey Metal Twister...the frame number is the car serial number and the missing body tag shows the production number of the body...body #48 or 849 or 1258 whatever. The body tag would show 86H-720-"sequential body number"
  5. Postwar production: All Lincoln models... 1946 was 16179 1947 was 19981 1948 only 6470. Production stopped on those V-12 models early in 1948
  6. 876 refers to the model year "1948" Lincoln automobile. 56 is the body style "Continental Cabriolet". 916 refers to it being the 916 body for that producion year.
  7. Jim, The town limo was continued in the 1939 model year BUT model 734 was renumbered into body style 22...it became 96H-22. Same number for 1940 06H-22 and in 1941 became Lincoln Custom limo 168H-22. And finally the limo was last produced in 1942 as 268H-22. No limos built after the war.
  8. Jim...To Lincoln "86" designates the year of manufacture as being a 1938 year styled model car. "H" indicates a Lincoln Zephyr manufactured automobile. "734" is the body style identification for a Lincoln Zephyr Town Limousine. And last number on plate shows it's the "34th" Town Limousine built to date of plate.

  11. Dave, Dole Mfg was a suppler of the thermostats for Ford. Model BF. Also another brand was "Hadees" their model # is H 50-HT. Look under "early Ford V-8 parts" on eBay...these thermostats pop up as they are also used on the Ford flatheads of the 30's and 40's.
  12. Jeff, post a photo of what you need,,,someone may have it.

  15. If you don't have any manuals with the car I suggest you go to the LZOC webside, click on "sources". scroll down to Earle Brown's ad, click on it and then click on his price list. On page four there is a list of available parts books and service manuals. A fine source of information is a local vendor in your area by the name of Merv Adkins. Contact him at 909 980-1332. Definately join the LZOC. Local club members in your are are listed in the annual directory. They are happy to help "newbies" (if you are one). Does it run. or when was the lst time it ran?
  16. Roy, it wouild help to know where you are located...
  17. Mike, it appears that the carb is mounted in reverse and may be a post war one if it has 4 mounting holes . Needs turning around. Also if the intake manifold has 4 bolts to mount the carb will be a 26H for 42-48 Lincolns. And, if the fuel pump has a glass bowl attached to it then it is for a 42-48 Lincoln.
  18. You mean that you will ACTUALLY have the 41 up and running next year??? Hotdiggitydawg
  19. Tom, driving a corvette to a LINCOLN Meet???? TSK TSK
  20. Harry, I have two post war instrument clusters and both have plastic for the faceplate cover. Not glass. Want one? John
