  1. Dave, Gaskets are the same, but 37-48 heads work. In 39 they started to put reinforcing strips along the bolt areas that run the length of the head. Rob
  2. You need to be asking for a 29 Chrysler 65 radiator. I won't argue about when your car was built, but getting parts for it will be much simpler and few wrong pieces of you refer to it as a 29. You have what is commonly called a "ribbon" radiator shell, used in 29-30 on Chrysler, 29 on DeSoto.
  3. I'll put in my 2 cents worth Looks like 37-38 Ford Rob
  4. Dave, I believe that to be a 37 C-17 airflow. May fit the Airstream also, but for sure looks like an Airflow unit. Rob
  5. I am looking for a Hood complete or just the Hood Tops (I have nice sides) for a 31 Chrysler CD series closed car. All CD closed cars use the same hood. Will have a wonderful 32 CP hood for sale or trade if I get the correct hood. Thanks, Rob
  6. All, I am looking for a Hood or just the hood tops (I have nice sides) for a 1931 Chrysler CD* All series CD in 31 on closed cars will work. I have a wonderful hood for a 32 CP that I would gladly trade or sell if I get the correct hood. Thanks Rob
  7. This is the same unit used on Fisher Bodied GM cars. Steele Rubber makes them. Rob hattiesgarage@comcast.net
  8. Mike, That looks like a 28-29 Pontiac/Oakland, may fit 30 but not sure. Rob
  9. Nice piece and thank you for reconsidering what you intended to do with the car. Yes it is very rare and well worth preserving in its original configuration. I have seen plenty of modified 33 Dodge and Plymouth's over the years and think it would only be a matter of time before you find one. Now to find a fellow enthusiast that would also like to keep the car as it is. Best of luck, wish I had something in your interest but at the present do not. Rob Burchill hattiesgarage@comcast.net
  10. What body style do you have, open or closed, that will change the mirror mount bracket. Rob
  11. I have a friend in need of a cylinder head for a 1930 Dodge DD. The head has DD cast into it. I will be happy to pass along any info. Just trying to help. Rob hattiesgarage@comcast.net
  12. Hi, I have a friend in need of an Intake/Exhaust Manifold for a 1939 White Model 704 fire truck. The engine is an 11A and is 270CI. Any help on this for a local fire dept? Thanks, Rob hattiesgarage@comcast.net Info will be passed on, I am only trying to help.
  13. I have a 27 Chrysler 4 engine, been inside and came out of a low mileage car in the 50's. PM , mr for details. Located in MD Rob
  14. Mike. Another possibility is to have your ring lands cut to fit modern rings. Depends on your cylinder bore (taper and ridges) and the condition of your pistons. Certainly replacement rings could be had and fit to your new grooves. Worth a try. Rob
  15. I'm sorry guys, that is a description of what I learned to call a "step ring". Chrysler, Dodge, De Soto all used these in the 28-31/32 era. They unfortunately haven't been available for years. Could they be made- certainly at a great cost. Unfortunately this is piston and ring time. I had to do this with my 28 Chrysler. Good luck and maybe some day somebody will accomodate this ring for us. Rob
  16. Dave, Thanks, I was curious about what it would bring. Tho I am sorry that they are beginning to bring out of my reach money, I am glad as I have felt for years these era Chrysler's were not appreciated and more common but popular cars brought alot more $$. Were the other early Chrysler's at this auction part of the Norm Frey Collection? How did they do? Thanks, ROb
  17. Dep5 is correct. A 1933 Chrysler Imperial CQ is a revamped and "upgraded" 32 Chrysler CP. Nice cars but not what these guys are describing. This car has the smaller straight 8 not the 9 main bearing big engine of the CG,CH, CL or CL* marques. Beautifully done in the photos and worthy IMHO of good press, it is not a Classic according to CCCA nor does it fit other than name in the Imperial class of the early 30's. Clearly a money/budget move on Chrysler's part originally, well built and remarkable cars, but not any different mechanically than a regular Chrysler 8. Of course to get into opinions all Auburn 8's are CCCA Classics....... Rob

  21. Steve, Originally the pistons had a recess in them that accepted a small tit on the wheel and master cylinder cups. If you do not have these you will need springs inside the cylinders. The bleeding of brakes is actually very simple. As the manual says, pump the hand pump, when bleeding the master cylinder just watch inside the reservoir for bubbles, once they stop the master is bled. Then bleed each wheel. We push on the pedal 1/2 way never a full stroke, and bleed each cylinder, obviously not letting up on the pedal until the bleeder is closed. The secret is having the brakes adjusted as per the manual and then bleeding. If you have excess clearances you will never get brakes. A very good system when all is in place. Call me if you need more clarification. Rob Hattie's Garage 240-344-292two
