  1. Photos, lots of photos and from every direction possible. Seems redundant, but with the 50-50-90 rule you will be happy to have taken all of the photos. The 50-50-9- rule is "It can go on one way or the other (50-50 and a 90 percent chance of putting it on the wrong way. Rob
  2. The 6 bolt pattern wheels look like Chevrolet Master, the wire 34, the artillery 35, the 2 inbetween look Mopar, the one on the right looks like Plymouth 34 maybe 33, the one on the left 36, the last wheel looks like Willys 33-36. IMO Rob
  3. Zach, Napa is fine, but my previious note abouot Then and Now in Weymouth MA is valid. They remake fuel pump kits, are now producing an ethanol compatable diaphragm with the kit and include instructions on rebuilding your old unit. Very good people to know. 781-335-1579 Good luck on your project. Rob
  4. Where in Mass are you? I am interested but have no plans to be in your area. Are you going to Hershey in the Fall? Rob hattiesgarage@comcast.net
  5. By the looks of that diaphragm, it wouldn't pump anything. Make sure when you re-install the pump that it is on the camlobe. We have all missed that lobe at one point or another in our hobby. It should require a slight pressure to bolt the fuel pump into place. Good suggestion to blow back thru the fuel line gently. A complete rebuild with new valves and gaskets, seals, diaphragm and some kits come with new springs will give you a pump that will work fine. Good for you to examine and delve into some unfamiliar territory. Rob
  6. Then try Robert Marx, 715-682-2405. You may end up making the diff (rear end gasket) Others should be available. I am surprised that Then and Now couldn't help you. Olson's Gaskets, and several others are listed in Hemming's if this lead doesn't pan out. Rob hattiesgarage@comcast.net
  7. Looks right, check with Then and Now Automotive, Weymouth, MA for a kit to rebuild, comes with instructions and is actually simple to do. 781-335-1579 Good people to know Rob hattiesgarage@comcast.net
  8. Am sending you a PM as I have difficulty loading photos on this sight. Rob
  9. Simply look at your manifolds. The exhaust ports line up with the exhaust valves and the same for the intakes. Remember that two of the exhaust ports are in common ports of the manifold. I believe you are looking at .008 for the clearances on the valve stems. Too tight will burn the valves, are you setting them running (ass suggested and darn near impossible to do) or setting them cold. Cold, typically add .001 to the recommended clearances. Hope this helps. I normally take a piece of masking tape or cardboard and mark my valve positions so I don't have to think about it under the car. Rob Hattie's Garage
  10. Any chance you could photo the door dovetails and receivers in the door post? I need some for an odd application but think those may work. Rob hattiesgarage@comcast.net

  19. Hey guys, I received a 62 Imperial in my shop the other day and the owner gave me his hood cable, unfortunately not attached to the hood. How does one get this open with the cable pulled out? I can start taking out panels, but felt some here has gone through this before. Thanks Rob hattiesgarage@comcast.net

  21. If you can come up with dimensions, Snyder's Ford parts will make the springs. Believe me the seats will be much more comfortable than foam will ever be. Rob hattiesgarage@comcast.net
  22. Tim, Typically that flat 1/4" wide piece is approx 1/4" loner on each end or 1/2" longer overall than the radius. If your old piece was 9" long your new one should be the same. I like them to crunch up slightly when installing to press fit the piece into the oil pan. A dab of Ultra Black sealer at each end will help to seal out the elements and seal in the oil. Rob hattiesgarage@comcast.net
